Size Comparison
It looks like the Vigilante is a lot wider and a little bit longer too, just a little bit, but these two trucks are huge, 1/5 scale. The Vigilante features Big Bore shocks and a body that resembles an 80s Chevy square body, although it is not licensed. The Traxxas Xmaxx, on the other hand, is clipless with a latch system for easy body removal. Both trucks have big tires, but the Vigilante’s overall size seems to be slightly larger with a longer wheelbase.
Features and Design
The Vigilante comes equipped with a 1250 KV motor and a Hobbywing setup. It has a composite chassis with good bracing in the center, as well as limiting straps for the shocks. The Xmaxx has a similar layout, with aluminum Caster blocks both front and rear, and slightly different ARs and skids compared to the Vigilante. Both trucks have big, firm tires that soften up after use.
Weight Comparison
When it comes to weight, the Vigilante tips the scales at 22 lb and 2.3 oz, whereas the Xmaxx weighs in at 18 lb 13.5 oz without batteries. This showcases just how massive these RC trucks are, with the Vigilante edging out the Xmaxx in weight and wheelbase.
Size and Weight Comparison
When it comes to comparing the Redcat Vigilante to the Traxxas Xmaxx and XRT in terms of size and weight, there are some interesting observations to be made. The Vigilante stands out a little bit more due to its back bumper and wheelie bar, giving it a unique look compared to the other two models. However, when it comes to size, the XRT is actually quite similar to the Vigilante. Their dimensions are almost identical, making them comparable in terms of physical size.
Pricing
Turning our attention to pricing, the X Maxx and XRT both come with a hefty price tag. The X Maxx is priced around $869 without batteries, while the XRT comes in at a similar price point of around $1000. This puts both models in a similar price range, making them more of an investment compared to the Vigilante.
