Now ignore the armor part, as I mentioned I’m using a motor, but the whole truck was in a very, very decent condition and I want to do now is actually improve on this myself, just going through it.

The Backstory
Thank you very much for joining me today, guys on the table, we’ve got a new secondhand car. As you know, I’ve got an SST and I absolutely love the hero, SST, absolutely awesome, truly. I literally kicked The Living Daylights out of it and it was a present from my wife and daughter, and I keep running it and running it and running it and it’s just been reliable from start to finish and tons of smiles and really enjoyed owning. Now in the process of actually looking at upgrades and stuff like that, I was looking at the St Pro. The St Pro was a Nitro car and a lot of guys converted those into race, truggies or Bashers because of the strength and durability of them in the sense of the chassis and everything. Now I swapped for an ST Pro with Rusty, a friend of the channel, and I got the car cleaned it all up and I thought, well look, I’ve got an SST, which I really like. I’ve got no intentions of getting rid of it, as I say, present. So what am I going to do, right?

David Watkins from RC for days guys had this hero Hyper MTX. Now we got talking, David’s a racer. I’m planning on doing a little bit, but David does a lot of racing and he looked at the St Pro and he thought right.

Body Replacement Decision
There are a few marks on the truck that need to be addressed, so we will be replacing the body. However, upon removing the body, it was evident that the truck itself is in excellent condition. It seems that David did not own this vehicle for long, using it only a few times before we made a deal on the St Pro. Despite a few minor marks from previous use, the truck is in lovely condition.
Exciting Purchase for the Build
I have been admiring this truck for some time now, and I am thrilled to announce that it will be featured in an upcoming build. Along with the Spectrum 150 amp ESC that I acquired from a friend, Nathan, this truck is set to undergo some exciting upgrades. The motor, which may seem out of place at the moment, will be explained in due course.

As you can see, I am using a powerful motor to upgrade the truck. My friend Nathan has already upgraded his truck with a Max 6 ESC, so I am now using his motor and ESC which are both high-quality components. The motor is a 2050 KV with a 150 amp ESC, providing plenty of power for the truck. I am planning to use the stock gearing for now, but I have added a new rocket fan on top for better cooling.

I am currently in the process of assembling and testing the truck to ensure everything is in working order. I am meticulously going through each component to make sure it is securely locked and tightened. Once everything is in place, the truck will be ready to hit the road and tackle any terrain.

Despite being labeled as an 1/8 scale vehicle, the Hobao Hyper MTX actually falls more accurately into the 1/7 scale category. Wheels and Tires
So these are the wheels and tires that come with the vehicle. As you can see absolutely massive tread pattern: um David, random, um, apparently by all accounts they hook up pretty decent. I might actually look in set get set of bad lands for it or trenches. Um 3.8 uh, I have seen Jason perin, actually fitting some 3.8 trenches on is, and he has some good uh good feedback on it, and you know guys if you want to know any more information like a prop or review and stuff.
ESC
Okay and the ESC, as you can see, is absolutely brand new Spectrum Firma. I have already updated the uh firmware on this ESC. Nice, big 15, 50 amp, see um Ive had great um great experience with Spectrum uh electronic products. I know some may say you know. Obviously there, a lot of guys will actually get a truck and just rip the stock electrics out and put them in me personally, Ive been quite happy with the way the Spectrum Electronics work.

So I’m going to reuse this now and it was a Nob brainer um. As you can see that it’s brand spanking new, the motor and ESC, so a massive Shout to Nathan, Thomas obviously for providing me with uh these products um.
On the Body and Its Condition
I the like – I say the only downside to all of this for me – was obviously the body. The body is in a bit of a state, but I kind of understand he has been sending it a little bit and it’s what the truck is designed for um and that is fun with the vehicle uh. For the moment, I might try and just bit obviously Sho – go it a little bit and put some stickers on it clean up a little bit more get rid of some of the the flaky stickers and just run it.
The Hunt for a Body
I am struggling at the moment guys. I’m trying to find a body for the MTX uh, so I’m hoping um they’re, either going to come in stock either wheel spin here in the UK or model sport or one of those kind of stocks, even the line Tracks or something like that and um, I believe the bodies brand new are only 25, so that’s a good thing. I’ll paint it whichever color I fancy, then I might have an idea for what color I’m going to use, but um yeah, great um.
Receiver and Servo Upgrade
Now, as for receiver and Servo, as you can see, waiting in my little box of tricks by is a 35 kgr to go in there.

I will be using my Fly Sky GT5 on there as well again, all this on a budget guys. That is the plan of the vehicle Im Im going to have it up and running. Ive wanted one of these for a long time, and this was my way of getting hold of the vehicle um. We came up with a deal that was amicable for both of us and uh. Yeah Ive ended up with a truck that Ive wanted for a long time. So absolutely awesome um. What do you think guys um have any of you guys actually used one of these vehicles?

Comparison to Other Models
I know reminds me very much of a hpo Savage HPI, Savage um use the same sort of its. They say its a D Frame or c frame theres plenty of support on the vehicle um. It is a little bit smaller than the M Mt Sport Plus 2. I love my heres and Im quite excited about getting my hands on this one um, so weve covered the Sero weve covered the electrics weve covered the receiver and handset weve covered, obviously the speed controller.
