Speed Pinion Upgrade
Welcome back to heat Arty. In this video, we’re going to put a big pinion on the Arrma Kraton and test its speed. Previously, we used a 21t pinion with a 25t Spur, but now we’re upgrading to a 25t pinion and 25t mod 1.5 vitavon spur for some serious speed.
Testing on 8s
First, we’ll test the Kraton on 8s with standard tires to establish a baseline for comparison. The car has been tuned with 25wt oil in the front and back, and 35wt oil in the rear shocks for better handling. Let’s see how it performs on this setup.
Upgrading to 12s
After testing on 8s, we’ll bump it up to 12s with smaller tires and the new gearing. In the previous test, we reached 65 mph on 12s with a different gear ratio. This time, with the 25t pinion and 25t mod 1.5 spur, we’re aiming for speeds of 70 mph or higher. Let’s push the limits of the Kraton and see what it can do.
Speed Run Results
With the GPS hooked up, the Kraton is ready for the speed run. The suspension has been adjusted for optimal performance, and we’re ready to unleash the beast. Will we hit our target speed of 70 mph? Let’s find out.
Testing the Limits
After running the 8s standard tires on one1 gearing, I decided to push the limits of the 12s Arrma Kraton with a speed pinion for a speed run. The batteries may not be fully charged, but they should provide a good baseline for performance.
Adjusting for Speed
Before the speed run, I made some adjustments to the car by turning up the brakes and activating the Active Brake Control (ABC) for added stability. With everything set, it was time to unleash the beast.
Power of the 12s
Switching to 12s power and using smaller tires for the speed run, I geared down slightly to maximize performance. The smaller diameter tires brought the car closer to the ground, enhancing stability and speed with the increased power.
Unleashing the Beast
With fresh packs and the GPS ready, I hit the throttle and watched as the Arrma Kraton tore down the track. The tires ballooned with power as the speedometer climbed higher and higher.
Reaching New Heights
With a top speed of 65mph on the previous run, I was eager to see how the adjustments would impact the performance. As the speedometer read 63mph and then 65mph again, it was clear that the 12s Arrma Kraton was a force to be reckoned with.
Unleashing the Beast
It seems I am nowhere near my top speed. Let’s go again. The 12s Arrma Kraton with the speed pinion is ready to unleash its full power. The TR is pushing the limits, but that’s still not the top end we’re aiming for. We need to go faster, quicker, squashing the competition. The beast is stirring, getting ready to be unleashed.
Pushing the Limits
You can hear the motor winding up, but it’s getting a bit out of shape. Let’s turn up the ABC and see if we can get it back in line. Something doesn’t sound quite right, but we press on. The speed run is pushing the limits of what this beast can handle. Will it hold up under the pressure?
Optimizing the Setup
The conclusions drawn from this test run tell us that the 21/25 gearing is providing stability and efficiency, giving us a top speed of 65 mph. On the other hand, the 1/1 gear ratio is causing the beast to lose control at the same speed. To maximize performance for bashing, a 700 or 800 KV motor with a 21/25 mod 1.5 gear setup seems to be the ideal configuration. This setup will give you 65 Mph, or 58 mph on 8s.
Unleashing the Power
The 12s power of the Arrma Kraton is a force to be reckoned with. It offers unparalleled control, rapid acceleration, and tire-burning capabilities. With the right setup, this beast will leave the competition in the dust. Warm up the tires, watch the RPMs climb, and get ready to unleash the full power of the 12s Arrma Kraton.
12s Arrma Kraton
Ah, pinion pinion gone okay, good time to stop guys thanks so much for watching uh 65 mph is where its at with the Craton.
Speed Pinion
I think you get a bashing setup. 2125. Gearing is better than one to one um. If you use standard tires on 12s youre just going to blow them them up, kit.
Speed Run
65 again uh same like last time with the same gearing so uh, it will go faster, its just getting squarely above 65 mph yeah, guys just my opinion came loose um.
Beast Unleashed
So good time to uh to start, I put it on last night. The lot tight, obviously hasn’t uh hasn’t, had time to set all righty guys he RC thanks so much for watching you rock smash.
