Have my kids with me, but look at this body its a hard ABS body, tons of chrome accents all over it. The bumpers are actually separate Inside the Box. Youre going to have to go screw on the front rear bumper, they have a molded, chrome, grill and theres, actually a second Grill inside the box with a different style to it. But as you can see, they got Chrome around the headlight bezels and around the marker lights and everything and theres LED lights. Behind these everything is nicely wired. You flip over the body everythings taped down, so theres no wires hanging as youre driving and then even in the rear. Theyve got the tail lights, just love the way. Those look, the Chrome on the rib bumper, absolutely awesome. Chevy logo on the tailgate, the tailgate actually folds down, and then this truck has a deep bed. I know theres a lot of of scale, guys out there that just love this deep bed that could go, throw their accessories in there uh. You know sleeping bags or ramps whatever you got, Ive seen some guys put motorcycles in the back very cool. What you could do with these nice thick plastic for the windows, you got, the RC four wheel drive Banner on it and then, if you look closely, you can see. Theyve got an interior in here the seats dashboard uh, even some decals, to go and help accent. The look steering wheel wheel, I believe there was pedals down at the bottom shifter at least and uh.
Exterior Details
The RC4WD Trail Finder 2 Chevy K10 Scottsdale boasts some striking exterior features such as windshield wipers in the front, large mirrors on the side, Scottdale logo, and rocker guards that are part of the chassis. The mirrors may seem oversized to some, but they bring back memories of classic Chevy vehicles with massive mirrors. Additionally, the kit includes inner fenders for the front, which require a bit of trimming for installation.
Wheels and Tires
The truck is equipped with BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires wrapped around rally style wheels. A notable change is the locker style Hub, which replaces the traditional nut. The special tool provided allows for easy removal of the hub, featuring the RC4WD logo etched in chrome. Both the front and rear wheels showcase this upgraded design.
Under the Hood
One of the standout features of the RC4WD Trail Finder 2 Chevy K10 Scottsdale is what lies under the hood. The body color is not the only change, as a major revision has been made to the engine compartment. By opening the hood, enthusiasts will be treated to a detailed view of the intricate engine components that make this truck truly remarkable.
Engine Bay Details
The hood does open on it; it’s a little tricky. Sometimes there we go it’s held down with a magnet and check that out guys there’s now an engine bay in there and they include an accessory kit, so it’s all wired up, it’s got the battery over there. It’s got the spark plug wires, the air cleaner. On top, even with stickers on it, there’s your brake booster, like the details on this very cool, look, definitely helps finish this truck off.
Accessory Kit
I think a lot of people are going to like that they’re going to sell that stuff separately. So if you have an earlier version of the K10 you’ll be able to pick up that engine dress-up kit for it.
Chassis Features
Let me take the body off and I’ll show you the few changes made to it and go over the rest, uh just in case you’re not familiar with this truck. So here’s the Trail Finder 2 long wheel, based platform, RC four-wheel drive has been using this for a really long time and what I like about it is there’s a lot of metal components on here. You feel like you’re getting a lot for your money.
Pricing and Summary
Speaking of that, this truck comes in at $570 for the ready-to-run set, and this gives you everything you need to go out and run the truck, but back to the platform itself. So you’ve got aluminum frame rails, anodized black they’ve even got the RC four-wheel Drive logos etched on them.
Radio Tray and Battery Pack
This metal radio tray supports the battery pack, which is specifically designed for the RC4WD battery. It features metal cross bracing throughout and a metal servo mount up front. The brackets for the transmission are also machined aluminum and black, giving the vehicle a sturdy build. The standoffs on the side serve as body mounts without the need for body clips on the outside.
Body Support and Fuel Cell
The body mounts in the rear provide additional support without the use of body clips. The fuel cell in the back acts as a radio box, housing the receiver for the vehicle. Additionally, the kit includes lexan inner fender wells for the front of the vehicle, adding to its overall durability and design.
Shock Absorption System
With aluminum shock perches in the front and shock mounts to the frame in the rear, the RC4WD Trail Finder 2 Chevy K10 Scottsdale features a unique shock absorption system. The suspension has been updated with softer leaf springs, providing a smoother ride. The removal of inner springs from the shocks enhances their performance and overall functionality.
Improvements Out of the Box
Now guys have been doing these mods on this truck for a long time now, RC four wheel drive is just doing it right out of the box. So you dont have to go ahead and work on your truck as soon as you get it to get some decent suspens action out of it and, as you can see its much Freer now, so I definitely like that.
Under The Hood
Change and thats really the only big change that they made to the platform itself up front. They still have the metal steering links and theres a metal Servo horn on the Twister Servo metal gears on the inside of that high torque theyve got their 45 turn motor and over here it mates up with the R3 transmission. This is just a single speed transmission that goes to the Hammer transfer case and uh just to round out the electronic. Actually they have their outcry, 3speed controller fitted with a xt60 plug. Now let me jump back to the drivetrain. Uh theyve got a hammer trans. The hammer transfer case send powered down these slider drive shafts.
Quality Construction
We got metal yolks on those the k44 axles. These are all metal, axle, housings and uh. They have metal hubs out by the wheels up front. Youll, see theyve got this a CV. Style drive shafts metal gears on the inside ball, bearings and everythings metal on these metal Knuckles of the diff cover on it, just a a really cool, looking axle, very scale-like and and thats.

Exploring the Trail
If I do Applause that lets work our way through the trail here its about slow as I can get the crawl to go a little slower there, we go thats about as slow as I could go. Keep forward momentum here.
This rock face here is pretty tricky and I nailed it before lets see. If I can do it again, nope all right come back around Music reset, never give up. You got to find the right line right. All right lets see if I can get it that I get it this time.
Performance Under Pressure
No, the rear Tires got to hook all right. Try number three scrape that front bumper, oh almost rolled, and we nailed it look at that. Third, try h all right, so obviously its got a 45 turn motor and just a six cell nickel metal hydride pack, so theres your top Music speed.
This mud right here is just calling the truck. Oh yeah, look at that you with the weight and the torque just helps this truck out musing through that stuff. Oh another roll! Oh! No! I can definitely tell theres some suspension movement now with the changes that they made to the truck, so it definitely handles better than the previous one.
Challenges and Rewards
I drove just got to keep this thing slow and scale and remember its a leaf sprung truck so its not going to go crazy with the articulation. But if you drive it right its a challenge and a Applause blast, so finding a spot to run wasnt easy.
Exploring the Terrain
Most of the local parks and trails are still covered in snow, so I went back to my usual mountain spot. For some reason, this area melts relatively quickly, providing me with a ton of mud to play in. It brought back memories of my childhood, hanging out with the truck crowd and mudding with them. The RC4WD Trail Finder 2 Chevy K10 Scottsdale handled the mud like a champ. The tires did fill up, slowing me down a bit as I navigated rocks and rough terrain.

These upgrades, usually done by enthusiasts after purchase, come straight from the factory in this model.
