Absolutely wild like there is not a better value in RC drifting than one of these right here. Ive modified it since put a different Gyro in it got the big stick: label RC Livery down the side of its looking, really really good. Im really enjoying this thing.

Different Body Styles

Um but Ive had a lot of folks. Ask me about the other body styles, and do they really all work the same or not, so I picked up another one of a different body style just to see like does it still really work? The same are the inner components still the same and are there any issues?

Variety of Models

The feedback Ive got from some folks is that there are different models here that this is made. There was some older V1 models that didnt come with the gyro installed, and so the car didnt drive as well. This one that I got before this is the LD 1802. What we picked up today, LD 1803, so lets get this out of the box. Get the batteries in it and see: does it drive as good as this thing did when it first came out of the box and look at us, we got the Acura or Honda NSX depending on what part of the world you are from.

Impressive Design Details

It is looking really nice, the body. The details on this body are probably even better than the one on the RX7 and thats saying something, because it is really good. Everything else that comes in the kit appears to be very similar.

Unboxing and Initial Impressions

I see the grip to go on the steering wheel. I see the grip to go around the bottom of the controller here. User manual looks the same, looks like we have some specific instructions, of course, for the different parts that you’re going to be putting onto the car itself from the different accessories. I will note that it talks about the front and rear suspension limiters and but it looks like they’re actually already installed on this car, which they were not on the RX7 uh. We do have the same battery charger here, some more of those plastic parts. We have a different rear wing that we can put on it and screwdriver.

Components and Features

So far it is looking all the same and from just a first look suspension, looks the same yes same battery that we had before so we’re going to get that charging. While we look at the body parts to put on – and it already looks like that – yes indeed, this has the same issue that the RX7 does, which is when the steering turns the inner Fender hits the tire. So we need to get rid of those inner fenders added the mirrors added the windshield Shield wipers the turn signal indicators, the door handle over here. Looking really good, I mean you really have to admit they did a great job on this body itself.

Customization Options

Now they actually say that you can replace this rear wing, so it’s kind of like got the rear wing here you just pull up, and it has that that that comes off actually has a little red strip underneath it like the brake light that looks great and Then has a couple standoffs here that can go in there and then you can replace it with a bigger rear wing back here.

Customizing Your RC Drift Car

If I really want that or not. I think I really like this Factory Wing that kind of more Sleek look so Im going to leave that one in there for now. So what were going to do is take off one two, three four screws, and if this is anything like the RX7, then that means that this will be able to separate and well be able to go ahead and see and make sure does everything look the same.

Fixing the Inner Fenders

Underneath and well be able to go ahead and get these inner fenders off, because those as we noted, are already causing an issue and are going to make it to where you cant drive very well, so lets get those off and see underneath it woo. Well, that looks different first thing to note is that these pieces fall out of the front uh they did not do that on on the RX7 looks like they go uh right over and mount in so thats good to know uh the other thing thats different versus The RX7 is this plastic cover um. I didnt have that we didnt have that on the RX7 at all. I dont think its necessary Im noticing that not only is there a plastic cover over the general Electronics area, theres also another one over the motor itself.

Potential Upgrades

I think were going to get rid of those um well, I guess I dont really need to yet, but if we decide to upgrade this one in in the future, I think those will be things that we can get rid of for sure, while were here were Going to hit one screw here, one screw here and if this is like the RX7, those inner fenders will then come out on the rear.

Critical Adjustment

I didn’t have any issues before, but I am noticing that this car has a pretty high amount of rear tow in. It looks like it’s almost hitting, so we’ll have to watch. The rear alignment seems to vary from car to car, indicating that quality control might not be super high. However, I believe we are good enough with the current alignment.

Assembly and Testing

Now, to get this bolted back together and let’s see how it drives. We’re going to then plug the battery in. I find that this little battery compartment is kind of tight, requiring some wiggling to fit everything in. I skip putting one screw back in as it seems unnecessary. So, I connect the controller, flip the switch on the car, and check if the gyro is working correctly.

Gyro Calibration

The gyro does appear to be working correctly. When I move the rear in one direction, it counter-steers towards me appropriately. However, I notice that the front tire is hitting the fender slightly. This contact could potentially cause issues during drifting, leading to the wheel locking up and spinning the car out.

Modification Considerations

To prevent this problem, we may have to adjust the alignment slightly or trim the fender ever so slightly. This modification is crucial to ensure smooth drifting without any unexpected spinouts or loss of control. Does not look like its happening on this side, so its just that little bit of difference that’s causing it to hit now. Of course, one of the best things with these. Oh yeah, look at that. That is awesome. I love this. The fact that they got that to work in a $60 price point is just ridiculous.

Adjustable Gyro Sensitivity Settings

With the B setting here, we’re supposed to have four different settings of Gyro Sensitivity. I think this is the 25 cuz its just moving. Just barely one push gets us to 50, gets us to 75, gets us to 100. Before when I drove this car, I found somewhere around the 50 was the right Mark so that’s where we’ll start with this NSX.

Fun Features for Added Realism

You know just like the other cars, this throttle. We have tail lights, but if we hit reverse, we get backup lights, it’s really just too awesome. I swear for the price point. This thing is just you literally just can’t beat it for the price point.

Exciting Drifting Experience

Let’s take it for a drive now and see just how it drifts around. I can’t express to you just how absolutely awesome this is that for this price point, you can have a car that literally drifts around like this. It is absolutely wild. I cannot believe it. It is, I mean, is it perfect? It’s not perfect, there’s. No way, I mean, you can see that the gyro is kept, really unstable, really wobbly in the front front.

Easy Setup

Wheels are jerking all around as it drives, but its 60 and literally I did nothing but remove the front fenders and put batteries in it, and you can literally be drifting around your garage having a blast.

Steering Adjustment

I am noticing that it does seem to want to spit spin out more when I’m drifting to the right rear is out to the left, making a right-hand corner and it’s just its got to be that right there you can just you can hear it. It just hits that front fender a little bit and just locks it up.

Alignment Check

So I think I’m going to try to take the body off again check the alignment in the front and see if I can tweak it just enough to get it to stop doing that. What I found here is that the steering turnbuckles on either side were actually the exact same Dimension side to side, that’s fine, but this upper tie rod here was 7 mm. Um just exposed thread area was 7 mm on this one. Six on the other side, so I’ve reduced at that millimeter to tip that front of the tire in and we’ll see once we get it all back assembled if that helps clear this fender or not.

Suspension Adjustment

Well, we haven’t solved it all together. I took this lower suspension limiting straps out also just as a curiosity and what you’ll notice is over here, nice and springy over here whole bunch of nothing.

Identifying and Fixing Suspension Issue

So something in this front corner right here is bound up and does not want to let this whole thing move freely like it does. On this side, the lower arm seems to move quite freely without any issues. This upper arm super stiff. So when I screwed this rod in here in order to reduce it and make it match over here, part of it actually screwed in through this base that it mounts into and actually was hitting this inner pivot point. So you got to be sure to measure and now I’m going to be very careful about it from pin here all the way to Edge and make sure that nothings binding all right with that modified front suspension now aligned more and I took out the front limiting Straps in it lets try it again and see if it drives even Applause better. That is awesome yeah.

Enhancing Performance for a Lower Price

It still got the bad front. You know stock Servo in it, but for 60 you shouldnt be able to put it right where you want it like that. I can literally go from a big sweeper with the outside clip and then just tighten it up and do the inside clip like at will like you’re, not supposed to be able to do that for 60.

Look at this its official. This is now confirmed. My favorite way to get people into rear-wheel-drive RC drifting, you just cannot beat the price and it actually does it and it gives you that flare for, like, you know, if I do a couple things to it, it might be just that little bit better.
