Introduction to Raro Omni Terminator
It welcome back to the skill builders Guild thanks again for watching today were taking a first look and review of the new raro Omni Terminator, and here it is determinator. This is a new 10 scale monster truck basher from raro, and this is absolutely 100 brand new theres, not a single thing on here that I think, has ever appeared in any other rlo vehicle in my business.
The Triangle Concept
Theres something called the triangle and its not anything nefarious. Its the triangle being three points, one being good, one being fast and the other being cheap. You can get something thats good and fast, but it wont be cheap. You can get something cheap and good, but it wont be fast or you can get something fast and cheap, but it wont be good and I think that what ralos tried to do here is actually get the full three things in one package.
Size and Quality
This is a fairly small 10 scale vehicle, as you can see, its wheelbase is about 10 in so its not big its, not really. In my mind, 10 scale Id call this more of a 12th or I dont know if Id go as small as 18th. Its probably more like a 12th scale monster truck if Im honest, but but the quality is there.
Exterior Design
Lets just kind of quickly go over some of the details on the outside lexand body, of course, uh styled to look a bit like a Ford F. 150 is uh theres lots of plastic details, hard plastic details here, the grill uh rear view mirrors uh sliders along the roof line and then on the back here.
The Build Quality
We’ve got this nice plastic piece to help protect the body as well it’s held on with four body clips, which is pretty standard. They do offer these nice rubber mounts that keep everything in place, which is pretty cool. We’ve also got a front bumper with an amber light bar and a rear bumper as well. This is the optional wheelie bar that is included in the packaging. I’ve decided to install it just because I think we’re going to need it. Nice looking tires, they do feel like there is a pretty heavy-duty foam in there, but there’s some nice softness to these tires. Tear up the dirt says so right on the tire. Good-looking compound, good-looking pattern should offer a significant amount of traction on looser surfaces, which is exactly where this thing is probably meant to run. Painted over windows, because this is a basher. So not really a big surprise there.
Underneath the Hood
All right, let’s take the body off underneath a very, very significantly nice looking layout. They’ve really done a good job here of packaging everything very tightly into a small space. This is the upgraded carbon fiber and aluminum model. It has some significant upgrades and is sort of their top of the line model. There are a couple in the lineup. This one has the biggest price tag, but also the nicest feature set in my opinion. Anyway, it is a 3s capable, 60 amp ESC paired to a brushless motor.
The Rlaarlo Omni Terminator’s Power
This brushless motor built with a 2650 KV power is a force to be reckoned with. The combination of a cooling fan and aluminum heat sink ensures that the motor stays cool even in the most intense of conditions. Add to that a fan on the ESC and aluminum detailing on the fan shroud, and you have a setup that screams performance.
Carbon Fiber Reinforcements
The Rlaarlo Omni Terminator doesn’t just rely on brute power; it also boasts a range of carbon fiber pieces strategically placed throughout its chassis. The carbon fiber braces running along the center of the chassis provide both strength and rigidity, ensuring that the truck can handle whatever you throw at it. Even the lower sections of the AR feature carbon fiber components, adding an extra layer of durability to the mix.
Innovative Design Elements
One of the standout features of the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator is its center diff setup. While other models in this class may skimp on this crucial component, the Omni Terminator includes a center diff that elevates its performance to a whole new level. The inclusion of an 11 kg servo for steering duty, along with a plethora of aluminum pieces, reinforces the fact that this truck means business.
Durable Construction
When it comes to the construction of the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator, durability is the name of the game. From cast aluminum motor mounts to machined shock towers, every component has been meticulously crafted to withstand the rigors of intense off-road action. The entire chassis itself is also made from aluminum, ensuring that this truck is as tough as they come.
Rlaarlo Omni Terminator Design
There they’ve really gone with a sort of Arma inspired design. The laser engraved lower aluminum plate adds a touch of professionalism to the overall feel of the RC car. The abundance of aluminum parts not only enhances rigidity but also gives it a premium look and feel. Moreover, the option to purchase additional aluminum parts allows users to further enhance the durability of the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator.
Components and Packaging
This RC car comes with a comprehensive set of components that are neatly packaged to ensure a smooth assembly process. The inclusion of full aluminum shocks, caps, and bodies adds to the overall quality of the product. Additionally, the plastic covers help in protecting vulnerable components, showcasing attention to detail in the design.
Battery and Upgradability
One of the potential drawbacks of the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator is the size of the included battery. The 2200 milliamp three-cell lipo battery, while functional, may not provide extended playtime due to its limited capacity. However, the provision of parts to accommodate larger batteries showcases the focus on user customization and upgradability.
Enhanced Performance Features
With the inclusion of front and rear sway bars, the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator offers improved stability and handling during operation. While it may lack a stability control system, the sway bars serve as a reliable feature to keep the RC car planted on various terrains. Checking the manual for confirmation on stability control is recommended for users seeking additional information.
The Rlaarlo Omni Terminator – A Wild Performer
The Rlaarlo Omni Terminator is a compact and powerful RC car that promises to deliver a thrilling experience both on the ground and in the air. With its small wheelbase and impressive torque, this little beast is bound to turn heads with its acrobatic moves and precise control in the air.
Plush Shocks and Superior Suspension
One of the standout features of the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator is its plush shocks that provide excellent dampening and support. The suspension setup offers a fair bit of adjustment, allowing users to fine-tune the car’s performance to their liking. The car holds its oil well, with no signs of leaking, a testament to its quality construction.
Customizable Options
While the stock version of the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator may not offer much in terms of customization for toe and camber adjustments, upgrading to aluminum parts opens up a world of possibilities. Users can adjust the position of the shocks to control damping levels, giving them more control over the car’s handling and performance.
Attention to Detail
From the quality of the shocks to the thoughtful inclusion of a six-channel radio with digital controls, the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator offers a well-rounded package for RC enthusiasts. The radio features a USBC connection for added convenience, while the foam wheel with a steering stick adds a touch of sophistication to the overall design.
Unpacking the Box
I like the little details of the disc brake as well. In addition to the truck you get this really nice flag, uh tear up the dirt flyer detailing all of the aluminum parts that they have as upgrades. You can even go to a 17 mil hex. If you want larger wheels and tires on here, I don’t know why you would. Couple of extra battery straps, a sticker sheet, and I love that the motor says irritable and then they gave you some stickers for the dog bones. I don’t know why you would need those; I don’t imagine they’d stay on either. There’s also a quick guide for assembly. I thought this was a warranty card, but it’s actually just sort of like a, uh, product, um, survey that you can fill out and take a picture of and send back to rlo.
Instruction Manual and Additional Parts
You know I love my warranty cards, uh, another sticker sheet. Most of them are already on the truck a nice hefty manual. Most of these pages are in languages you won’t speak, uh, but yeah. It kind of covers everything, a breakdown of all the parts and everything that you might need if something were to break, uh, and, uh, instructions on how to run the truck. They also give you a larger pinion, which I think we’ll probably install before we take this truck out all the parts to extend your battery tray, so you can make it a larger battery capacity and two additional diff gaskets do not lick these.
Overview of Rlaarlo Omni Terminator
It feels very solid, very robust and nicely built at this point. At $249 to pre-order, this is a good value. The upgraded carbon fiber model with a larger motor and better ESC is regularly priced at $329. While the cheaper model at $199 lacks the carbon fiber pieces and the powerful brushless motor and ESC combo, it still offers significant value. Additionally, there is a roller option available for $179 if you prefer to customize your own electronics, making it a good deal.
Rlaarlo has a reputation for producing decent cars and their commitment to ease of upgrade and replacement parts further enhances the appeal of this product.
