Unboxing the Traxxas X-Maxx Ultimate

Unboxing the Traxxas X-Maxx Ultimate

Initial Impressions

So this is the completely tricked out version of the X-Maxx, with all the aluminum upgrades already installed. It also comes with new belted Sledgehammer tires, adding to the overall premium look and feel of the truck.

Unboxing the Package

Upon opening the box, the first thing that catches the eye is the shiny glass tabletop, with the X-Maxx placed upside down. A slight moment of confusion, but we press on. The sound of the truck hitting the table is satisfying, signaling the beginning of the unboxing process.

Contents of the Box

Inside the package, you’ll find the transmitter TQi, a familiar sight for those who have owned Traxxas cars before. Alongside the truck, there are styrofoam pieces, tires, manual, instructions, and various tools and parts needed for assembly.

Exploring the Features

The X-Maxx Ultimate comes with fully aluminum shocks, hubs, hub carriers, steering linkage, wheels on the wheelie bar, and a durable aluminum diff housing. The decision to not include aluminum arms is noted, as it ensures easier replacements if needed in the future.

Initial Impressions

This is still the stock length stock width, but if you put the wide Max kit on it, you will still be able to use all these aluminum bits except the drive shaft. But the wide Max kit has comes with those, so the wheels are in their own little bags.

Tools and Instructions

Oh and there’s the tools, it’s just nice little handy, dandy, instruction, uh, French or English, depending on which would you prefer, if you’re, not in Canada, the selection of languages may be different. They do include the nice green hexs for the wheels and the nice allen wrench.

New Belted Tires

I believe these are the new belted tires, which look externally the same as the sledgehammer tires that have been available for the X-Maxx for a while, but these will not balloon nearly as much at speed. Lift it up. You want to crank them on yeah, so these are just your standard tracks at 17 mil hexs, they are not directional, which is nice.

Aluminum Hubs

That is one thing I like about. The sledgehammer tires and the hammers are an excellent performing tire and a good looking tire balance is pretty good on just two tires. It does balance well on two tires. We’ll see what happens when we get two more tires on here. Maybe it’ll balance twice as good.

Looks like we got a little bit of Loctite here on the aluminum HBS, which is nice to have. That’ll stop this not are directional, there’s one side that is yes got a little bit of teeth on it to grab the plastic.

Unboxing the Traxxas X-Maxx Ultimate

Initial Impressions

Really hard to see but wheels are on. This is your standard Traxxas clipless body. You got the tongue thingy in the front good under there clip in the back and there it is the xmax ultimate. That is what a 2000 RC car looks like. Well, 299 Canadian itll be insert number on the screen here in US dollar Im in love.

Design and Build

It is a pretty sweet, truck yeah, thats Beauty and you can get the xrt ultimate as well, which has all the same stuff, but it has the lower xrt chassis and the white arm kit. Does the xrt one have the white arm kit? It does ooh very nice yeah, all right its heavy. I dont know if its heavier than a regular xmax, but it is quite heavy, but with all this aluminum stuff, I wont say: youd have a hard time breaking it, because I mean lets be real.

Durability and Upgrades

People are going to drive this into trees at 50 m hour, but it will hold up to normal usage a lot better than the plastic parts on the regular one. If you want to still want to upgrade something on this, which, of course you will its a vehicle, uh Proline makes a quote: unquote: indestructible body for the xmax um, which I think youd probably want. If youre going to be bashing it um and as we mentioned before, you can also put the wide Max kit on this.

Electronics and Performance

Also has some fancy Electronics thingies.

Unboxing the Traxxas X-Maxx Ultimate

We have the Traxxas link module uh, so you can Bluetooth it to your phone and have realtime Telemetry. All the goodies you would normally want, or would upgrade from a stock truck with everything else, thats the middle gear Servo as well.

I just noticed you can hear. Let me double check, but I believe yep, that is the middle gear Servo, which is very nice because thats another thing that most people upgrade right away on these yeah Traxxas did just release. Also a 600 ounz torque Servo upgrade for this and the max stay tuned.

Reviewing the Upgrades

We might do a review on that as well. I want to drive it. I want to drive it too. Well, that is it for our un unboxing of the xmax ultimate. We will let you know if we can convince the boss to lets, drive it uh. Until then um, if youd like to get yours, we have them here at BC Hobbies.
