Why did WLToys make THIS?

The Design

It does come with one of these new typical transmitters, but I don’t know, I like the old style better. But let’s just Dive Right, Music In Music. Problematic? It’s not all doom and gloom. It actually looks really, really good, even if that R does remind you of another R brand. Out of the box, the shocks are not filled with much, and I thought this was going to be. Metal is plastic, and so is that. Now, the last iteration of their 18th scale was epic, kind of went back to their roots with the a979 style chassis again. I was really hoping they were going to like reinvent this chassis or use the metal one or come up with you know this design, which is also MJX E, but they didn’t so let’s open it up. Flip bodies, nice. It’s got these little clippies inside of here, one, two, and that’s it. It also has like 17 million wires and lights all over the place, and that cage is cool. I love that idea. What I don’t love is that this is glued together. Why? And that’s all hot glued too. Pretty basic inside, really cramped tiny battery tray. Wo comes with a 2s 1200 mAh 3in1 ESC.

What is a 3in1 ESC?

Hey Real Talk, what’s a 3in1 ESC? Oh, I’m serious, what’s a 3in1 ESC? It’s a two-in-one, it’s either a receiver, and it supplies power to the motor. What does the three do? Light controller, yeah three in one, what’s the three?

The Three-in-One ESC

If you can give me a valid answer as to why WLToys decided to include a three-in-one ESC in their product, I would be very happy to hear it. The links on this model are made of plastic, which immediately raises concerns about durability and adjustability. Furthermore, the dog bones appear chunky and lack any adjustability. The shocks are also made of plastic and have no oil in them, which may lead to subpar performance. While the tires feel okay, they lack foam and seem rather generic. However, among all these questionable choices, one can appreciate the inclusion of a metal motor mount and a 5900 KV motor. Additionally, the waterproofing seems decent, and the three-wire servo is a positive feature. The lights on this model do stand out and give it a cool aesthetic appeal. Nevertheless, there is an overall feeling that everything has been put together too tightly, making it a bindy experience.

A Mysterious Battery Incident

Here’s an interesting side note about the battery that came with this model. When I went to charge it, I discovered that both cells were at 4.19. Surprisingly, the battery was already fully charged. With this in mind, I was ready to put the vehicle to the test, especially since snow was on its way. As I turned it on and got prepared for its performance, I couldn’t help but notice the unusual sound it was making. It was a bindy sound that left me puzzled and curious about what exactly was going on with this product.

The Disappointing Speed

As I released the vehicle onto the snowy terrain, braving the cold and windy weather, I had high hopes for it to reach an impressive speed of 60 kilometers per hour. Unfortunately, it fell short of this mark. The vehicle only managed to reach a top speed of 43 kilometers per hour. This discrepancy left me perplexed and disappointed. I couldn’t pinpoint the exact reason for this underperformance. To address the issue, I turned the vehicle off and then back on, hoping for a quick fix. Surprisingly, it seemed to be functioning properly after this restart, which further added to my confusion.

An Unexpected Twist

Despite all the initial setbacks, I decided to give the vehicle another try. As I sent it off on its next run, I was taken aback by its snappy performance. The vehicle exhibited unexpected agility and responsiveness. My surprise and excitement were uncontainable. It seemed that the cold weather hadn’t deterred this vehicle at all, and it continued to perform remarkably well in temperatures as low as 6 degrees. The initial disappointment gave way to a sense of awe and confusion, as the vehicle defied expectations and proved to be quite impressive despite its earlier shortcomings.

In conclusion, the WLToys model in question presents itself as a perplexing combination of questionable design choices and surprising performance. Why did WLToys make THIS?

It was a bad landing. The RC toy snapped easily, the plastic being so thin. But at least it still had one functioning wheel, allowing some degree of control. However, controlling it proved to be a challenge, and it quickly became apparent that this toy was not up to par. The manufacturer should have taken into account the binding issues and the fact that it would hit thermal cutoff right out of the box. Perhaps this RC toy just wasn’t meant for me, or maybe I simply lack the skills to operate it properly. Or could it be that the fault lies with the toy itself?

A Lemon?

Oh, the frustration! It seems like I may have received a faulty product right from the start. Despite its flaws, it does offer some moments of fun and excitement. If only it were more reliable! But alas, it continues to disappoint. Why did WLToys put such effort into manufacturing a toy that falls short of expectations? It’s a question that lingers and leaves me perplexed.

Unwanted Autonomy

To make matters worse, this RC toy seems to have a mind of its own. It veers off course, shuts off unexpectedly, and leaves me feeling helpless in trying to regain control. I wish I could blame myself for these mishaps, but it’s clear that the fault lies with the toy. WLToys, why did you design it this way?

Wasted Potential

Despite its flaws and unpredictable behavior, there is a glimmer of potential in this RC toy. It has impressive speed, even without proper steering. If only it functioned as it should, it could have been an enjoyable and thrilling experience. But alas, it falls short of being the toy it could have been. WLToys, why did you miss the mark on this one?

WLToys: A Disappointing Choice?

Now I got no sking. So not only did the linkage break a little bit of water, the servo Kut, maybe a maybe a lot of water, oh its in the water. Again, I cant even steer it. Oh yeah boy, oh thats, it thats it that killed it that killed it.

Oh I got my steering back just need a little crash here and Music there. So its got to be water in the ESC, something yeah. What a total disappointment? Maybe itll work now: nope discipline RC wasted nice sunny day, so you dont have to oh now. It Laughter works solved with violins.

WLToys and Their Failed Expectations

What a disappointment, the exact same price you can get this. I really struggle to see how, from this to this, how theyve gone so off the rails and sure its not brushless but its better, its just better or you can just add 50 bucks and get something that is guaranteed awesome.

I think I just got a lemon of the bunch or Im just crap driving I mean Phil took his and launched it over and over and over until it broke. If youre on the fence about these things, go watch these videos and see which ones better.

Conclusion
