PULLING A TRAILER WITH A TRAXXAS RAPTOR

PULLING A TRAILER WITH A TRAXXAS RAPTOR

A High-Powered Traxxas Raptor:

You can buy brushless ones, some that do over 100 m hour, but I just got done running a full battery pack down on a 200 entry-level, Traxxas Bigfoot. This thing is super underrated but is actually a lot of fun and pulls wheelies like crazy. It’s not the fastest thing out there, but it’s definitely not slow, and it looks mega cool.

Introducing the Traxxas Raptor:

Hey there, everyone! My name is Mark C, and welcome back to the RC Vlog. Today, I want to introduce you to the Traxxas Raptor. I recently picked up this beast for a Christmas video, and I have to say, it’s an amazing Christmas gift for any RC enthusiast. You can check out the link above to watch that video. One of the reasons I love this model is that it comes with the brand new USBC charger.

Testing the USBC Charger:

I have never used a USBC charger before, so I’m excited to put it to the test and see how it performs. USBC is set to become the new universal connector, and it’s likely that everyone will soon have a USBC charger. So, with this in mind, having the USBC charger included with the Traxxas Raptor is perfect.

Examining the Traxxas USBC Charger:

Let’s take a closer look at the Traxxas USBC charger. As you can see, it has an input port and a Traxxas ID connector. Currently, it seems to only support six-cell and seven-cell nickel-metal hydride batteries. This is an update from the previous charger that used to come with the RTR models.

Improved Connectivity:

The previous charger was compatible with batteries ranging from 5 to 7 cells, but it plugged directly into your car. With the new USBC charger, you have the convenience of using a universal connector, making it much easier to charge your Traxxas Raptor.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the Traxxas Raptor is a powerful and underrated RC vehicle that offers a lot of fun. With its wheelie-pulling capabilities and cool design, it is a great choice for any RC enthusiast. Additionally, the inclusion of the new Traxxas USBC charger enhances the overall user experience by providing improved connectivity and convenience. So, if you’re looking for a new RC vehicle that can pull a trailer with ease, the Traxxas Raptor would be an excellent choice.

Pulling a Trailer with a Traxxas Raptor

When it comes to pulling a trailer with a Traxxas Raptor, there are some pros and cons worth considering. Let’s dive into the details and explore the ins and outs of this unique experience.

The Cool Aspect: Quick Charging

One of the cool things about the Traxxas Raptor is that it charges quickly when you plug it into your car. This means that if you’re on the go and need a quick boost, you can rely on your car’s power to charge it up in no time.

The Not-so-Cool Aspect: Adapter Dependency

However, there is a downside to charging the Traxxas Raptor. If you want to plug it into a wall socket or an AC charger, you need to get an adapter. This can be a hassle, as you’ll have to ensure you have the right adapter on hand before you can charge your Raptor conveniently.

An Ingenious Solution: USB-C Charging

Thankfully, there is an ingenious solution to the adapter problem. Using a USB-C cable, which is commonly found in households, you can charge your Traxxas Raptor with ease. All you need is a USB power block, which is a generic accessory available in most electronic stores.

This method of charging is not only convenient but also efficient. The Traxxas Raptor charges well with a USB-C cable and is compatible with a standard nickel-metal hydride 7-cell battery.

Varying Charging Times

It’s important to note that the charging time may vary depending on the power block and USB-C cable you use. If your power block and cable are not optimized for fast charging, it may take longer to fully charge your Traxxas Raptor.

Although the charging speed ultimately depends on the equipment you have, it’s good to keep track of the charging time for future reference. This way, you can plan your adventures with the Traxxas Raptor accordingly and ensure you have a fully charged battery before hitting the road.

As for the amperage of the charger, it is worth noting that there may be different options to choose from. While the text mentions a 2 amp charger, it also hints at the possibility of a 4 amp charger. Using a higher amp charger could potentially speed up the charging process, but it’s essential to check the compatibility of the charger with your Traxxas Raptor before using it.

So, as you embark on your Traxxas Raptor adventures, remember the different charging options available and the factors that may affect the charging time. With the right equipment and a bit of patience, you can ensure a fully charged Raptor ready to conquer any terrain.

The Excitement of Upgrading: Pulling a Trailer with a Traxxas Raptor

For RC enthusiasts, the feeling of upgrading their equipment is always exhilarating. And while some may argue that having a charger is not a major upgrade, for those who don’t yet have one, it can make a world of difference. The convenience of not having to run and get another charger or rely on a running car to charge your brand new Traxxas car is truly a game-changer.

The Power Block and Fast Charging USBC Cable

Traxxas offers two incredible accessories that can enhance your charging experience. Firstly, there is a 45W USBC AC power adapter, which is capable of charging your batteries at a significantly faster rate. And then there’s the 100W high output USBC cable, which complements the power adapter brilliantly. While these accessories are not a necessity, they can undoubtedly speed up the battery charging process.

When I walked out of the shop with these accessories, I couldn’t help but appreciate the excitement shared by the shop’s staff. They were raving about these products, claiming that they use them for everything due to their incredible charging speed. It almost feels like having a supercharger for your RC car!

The Comparison Test: Regular Charging vs. Supercharging

Now, let’s put these accessories to the test. We’ll charge the Traxxas Raptor using a regular household USBC cable and power block, and then we’ll compare the time it takes to charge it using the Traxxas USBC charger. This will give us a clear understanding of the time difference and the effectiveness of these accessories.

After opening the Traxxas USBC charger, I eagerly searched for any Traxxas branding, hoping to find a symbol of quality and reliability. Unfortunately, it was devoid of any branding, appearing as a simple, yet powerful, power block.

With the charger in hand, it was time to put it to use. Connecting the Traxxas Raptor to the regular charger, I watched as the battery slowly replenished its power. Then, with great anticipation, I switched to the Traxxas USBC charger, excited to witness its supposed supercharging capabilities in action.

The RC Box Club And The Thrill of New Discoveries

Amidst the excitement of upgrading our RC equipment, I must confess that I have been slacking on the RC Box Club openings. It’s time to reignite the flame of exploration and unboxing new treasures. The RC Box Club holds the promise of unearthing exciting surprises and expanding our RC collection.

In conclusion, while pulling a trailer with a Traxxas Raptor may seem like a trivial pursuit to some, for RC enthusiasts, it is a thrilling experience. With the advent of the Traxxas USBC charger, the joy of racing and exploring the RC world can be enhanced even further. Embrace the upgrade and let your Traxxas Raptor roar with power!

The November Box

In November, the RC Box Club unveiled their highly anticipated box, filled with exciting goodies. This particular box did not disappoint, as it contained a variety of valuable items. The club partnered up with Eco Power, and members were treated to some exclusive swag and merchandise.

Eco Power Stickers and Swag

One of the highlights of the November box was the inclusion of beautiful Eco Power stickers. These stickers were a visual representation of the partnership between RC Box Club and Eco Power. Members could proudly display these stickers on their favorite RC vehicles or anywhere else they desired.

Additionally, for those who were part of the swag subscription, a special t-shirt was included. This shirt showcased the Eco Power logo with the distinctive RC Box Club branding. The shirt itself had a sleek, dark gray color, making it perfect for both track racing and bashing. Its practical color ensured that it wouldn’t easily show dirt or stains.

Two Servos

The November box went above and beyond by providing not one, but two servos to its members. Each of these servos had a value of $40, making them both highly sought-after items.

The first servo was a high-speed steering servo. What made this particular servo stand out was its compatibility with high voltage. When operated at high voltage, it could generate an impressive torque of 280 oz/in at just 0.9 seconds. This level of performance was more than sufficient for most RC applications, guaranteeing precise and swift steering.

The second servo included in the box was the WP 110t. This servo served as a perfect drop-in replacement for any Ready-to-Run (RTR) vehicle. Whether a vehicle had a faulty servo or required an upgrade to metal gears, the WP 110t fit the bill. With its enhanced speed and superior performance, it outshone many standard servos in the market, further complemented by its durable and reliable metal gear.

Replacing Servos and Building Kits

Having extra servos on hand can be quite convenient, especially when one of them breaks. With two spare servos, you not only have a replacement but also an excuse to build another kit. If you’re in need of servos, Aain Hobbies and Eco Power offer great options that you can easily find.

Introducing RC Box Club

If you haven’t heard of the RC Box Club, let me tell you about it. It’s an RC subscription box that delivers a cool mystery box of RC stuff to your doorstep every month. And let me tell you, the November box was a real treat. Valued at over 100 bucks, the box only costs 50 dollars. If you’re interested, I’ll leave a link in the description for you to check it out and join the club.

Charging the Traxxas Raptor

Charging the Traxxas Raptor can be a time-consuming task. Using a household USBC charger, it took me more than 2 and a half hours, possibly even over 3 hours, to fully charge the battery. It was quite a wait, and I had to leave it plugged in and come back later to check its progress. It wasn’t until the next morning or after dinner that I saw the battery was finally charged. So, be prepared for a significant amount of time required to charge the Traxxas Raptor. If I were to estimate, it probably charges at around 1 amp or maybe slightly more.

Introducing the Traxxas Power Block and 100-watt Cable

To make the charging process more efficient, Traxxas offers the new Traxxas Power Block and 100-watt cable. These accessories can help you charge your Traxxas Raptor much faster. With the power block and cable, you can expect a shorter charging time compared to using a regular household charger.

The Traxxas Raptor: Ready for Trailer Pulling

It charged it in less than less than an hour for sure, maybe 45 minutes, 30 minutes, and that was a fully dead battery. So yeah, this Char, the Traxxas power block and the cable are freaking awesome. If you want to charge extra fast, it’s definitely worth it all right, believe it or not, that’s not what this video is about.

There’s been something that’s been bothering something that I noticed on a car that I got recently, and you know I’ll just show you guys. The Traxxas Raptor, you see that guys, you know what that is, that’s a spot for a hitch. That means we can hook a trailer up to this thing, I don’t even have to tell you where this is going. You already know where this is going, we’re about to do some high-speed trailer pulls, all right.

Mounting the Trailer

I got the trailer all mounted up, so I took the trailer jack off because it was getting pretty low, and I’m assuming as soon as I hit any bump it’s going to scratch. So I just went ahead and took it off, but man this looks so freaking cool. What do you think, should we do it on 2s or 3s? That was a stupid question, of course we’re doing it on 3s?

Preliminary Testing

All right, we’re doing a little preliminary testing before we let her eat. Oh, my God, car coming, there’s the car that would have suck, rolled it out and just get ran over by a car, that would really suck all Music right, who lots of trailers, all right.

Trailer Sway

So something I didn’t consider, there’s going to be a lot of Trailer sway, a whole bunch of trailers sway. As I hit higher speeds, the trailer is really tugging at the Traxxas Raptor. It’s quite a thrill, but also a little nerve-wracking as the trailer jerks from side to side. It’s like the Raptor is wrestling with the trailer, trying its best to keep it in line.

But let me tell you, it’s an exhilarating experience. The power and torque of the Traxxas Raptor make it more than capable of pulling a trailer, even at high speeds. I was worried at first about the strain it might put on the motor, but the Raptor handles it like a champ.

The Need for Control

However, it’s important to use caution and have good control when pulling a trailer with the Traxxas Raptor. Sudden maneuvers or changes in speed can cause the trailer to sway even more, potentially leading to loss of control. So it’s crucial to anticipate any movements and make smooth, gradual adjustments to avoid any mishaps.

A Thrilling Adventure

Pulling a trailer with the Traxxas Raptor is not for the faint of heart. It adds an extra level of excitement and challenge to the already thrilling world of RC car racing. Watching the

Traxxas Raptor: A Wild Ride

The idea of pulling a trailer with a Traxxas Raptor might sound ludicrous to some, but for those adrenaline junkies seeking an electrifying experience, it can be the ultimate thrill. With its powerful four-wheel drive capabilities, this beast of a vehicle has the potential to turn heads and leave onlookers in awe.

Preparation for the Unknown

As we ventured into the parking lot, it became evident that the streets were simply too small for this daring undertaking. The Traxxas Raptor’s tires spun aggressively, leaving behind a trail of burnt rubber. The sheer power and control of this vehicle were already on display, setting the stage for what lay ahead.

An Unpredictable Journey Begins

With anticipation building, we braced ourselves for what promised to be a spectacle of epic proportions. One couldn’t help but wonder how the trailer would hold up under the strain, or if the wheels would simply fly off during this audacious endeavor. As the Traxxas Raptor powered forward, it became clear that anything could happen.

Tackling the Speed Wobbles

To counteract the unnerving speed wobbles experienced during testing, a Traxxas hot rod was strategically placed on the back of the trailer for added weight. By doing so, the balance of the trailer shifted, alleviating the instability caused by the Raptor’s unstoppable force. A calculated move to ensure safety and control throughout this hair-raising ride.

An Unexpected Companion

Joined by my loyal camera guy, Evan, our mission to push the limits of the Traxxas Raptor became a personal challenge. Testing the limits of this beast was thrilling enough, but having the opportunity to share the experience with Evan added an extra layer of excitement. Little did he know that his presence would become the source of amusement.

A Rollercoaster of Emotions

As the adrenaline coursed through our veins, we embarked on this wild ride. The speed wobbles hit hard, threatening to throw us off balance. The trailer shook violently, as if possessed by its own spirit. In the midst of chaos, I made a split-second decision to steer, causing the car to jerk abruptly. The trailer swayed dangerously, heightening the uncertainty of the situation.

A Delicate Balance

Realizing the precariousness of the situation, swift action was required. I readjusted the placement of the car on the trailer and secured it tightly to prevent any further movement. Mitigating the megawatt speed wobbles became imperative. With caution in mind, we prepared to ease into the intensity, cautious of the potential repercussions of any sudden movements.

As the saga unfolds, the outcome remains uncertain. Will the Traxxas Raptor shatter expectations or succumb to the forces that strive to overpower it? Only time will tell the fate of this daredevil exhibition. One thing is for certain – this heart-stopping experience has left us both exhilarated and eager for more. The Traxxas Raptor has proven once again that it is not for the fainthearted, but rather reserved for those seeking the ultimate adventure.

Oh, my God, so I gave it throttle and it just lost. It were going to do something else that uh I didn’t think I was going to do were going to put TSM on Music. Oh my God. Look at those speed, HS that’s full pin!

Another eight-way drag race on the Raptor God you just got to dodge all the people flipping over sorry for the kind of weird TR transition there. Shortly after, I got done blowing the tires off that trailer. We had the MSM RTR drag race night. So, we did some drag racing, some really cool eight-wide drag races.

The Raptor’s Performance

I had the Raptor out there just for fun, just to see how it did. And obviously, with TSM 3s four-wheel drive, like it was, it was so much fun to drive. It was just pull the trigger and go, and everyone was just trying to keep up with it, but it was a good time.
