The Highly Desirable RC Car that You’ll Probably Never Drive!

The Iconic Team Associated CC

On my recent visit to Best Buy, I had just purchased a new Sony camera to enhance the quality of videos on the channel. Little did I know, a surprise awaited me when I returned home—a brand new Team Associated CC, also known as the classic clear Edition, sitting proudly on my doorstep. This car is causing quite a stir among RC enthusiasts.

The Team Associated CC holds a special place in the hearts of many in the radio control world. Designed by Roger Curtiss Vision, the founder of Team Associated, this car is regarded as one of the most iconic RC cars ever created. It has clinched numerous titles, including being the first car to win the roora and ifar title. From racing fans to RC hobbyists, people all over the world have cherished experiences with this remarkable vehicle. Its nostalgic appeal and rich history have made the release of this kit highly anticipated.

An Unboxing Experience

Now, let’s dive into the unboxing of this extraordinary RC car. Keep in mind that the one I have is a display car, but it can be converted for running as well. Whether you decide to showcase it or take it for a spin, the moments it evokes will undoubtedly be enjoyable.

Opening the Box

As I open the box, the anticipation builds, and I am greeted with a stunning sight—a full buildup kit, ready to be assembled. The attention to detail in every component is exemplary, instilling a sense of excitement in me. With this car in my hands, I cannot wait to immerse myself in the process of putting it together.

The Intriguing Driver Figures

One of the fascinating parts included in the kit are the driver figures. Painted these figures were in the past, and now they have advanced to the point of being clear. It is not the same as the SLA (stereolithography) parts that were commonly seen in prototype rc10 models. The decision to create this kit was driven by popular demand for the SLA parts. The team behind it came up with the ingenious idea of introducing a clear kit, and I must say, they did an excellent job with it. The appearance of these parts is simply marvelous.

Kit Durability and Parts Availability

While you can certainly run this kit, if any of the parts break, you will face a predicament. Unfortunately, the individual parts will not be available separately. So, if you happen to break a part while driving this RC car, you will either need to purchase another kit or search for someone who is selling individual parts. Surely, there will be people who might part out their kits in the future, but it may not be an easy find. The rear arms, pivot blocks, outer hubs, and the tool steel hinge pins are all clear and well-crafted in this kit.

Running Options and Bushing Choice

Given the collectible nature of this RC car, most people are unlikely to run it. However, for those daring enough to unleash its power on the track, it is essential to note that the kit comes with dog bones and bushings for assembly. In this case, bushings are actually a better option compared to other alternatives like nylon bushings. The choice of bushings adds to the overall aesthetic appeal of the car as it complements the clear parts. Once this kit is fully put together, it is bound to be a sight to behold.

NOTE: The content provided does not give much information about the RC car itself or its features, so the article is primarily focused on the provided content regarding the included parts.

Unparalleled Body and Wing Design

As you gaze upon the prote body, you realize that its separate purchase is well worth it. The sleek lines and aerodynamic curves truly embody the essence of speed and control. The narrow rear wing, though requiring some precise cutting, completes the car’s aggressive look, ready to dominate any track.

Precision Suspension Parts

The final bag holds the key to the car’s impeccable suspension. Threaded rods and white ball ends demonstrate the attention to detail in ensuring the smoothest and most accurate performance. These parts, when combined, contribute to the car’s impeccable agility and handling.

In conclusion, this highly desirable RC car is a true masterpiece of engineering and design. Its shock system, transmission, steering, body, and suspension all come together to create a machine that oozes with power, precision, and style. While the chance of driving this remarkable car may be slim for most, owning and admiring it from a distance is a thrill in itself.

Checking out the Chassis

Let’s start by examining the chassis of this highly desirable RC car. It’s made of T6 aluminum, which gives it a sleek silver appearance. Interestingly, there are no logos on the bottom of the chassis, but the countersunk design mimics the original chassis. Strangely enough, it feels slightly thinner than the original, but that doesn’t take away from how awesome it looks.

Inside the box, we also find a couple of tools – a shock and piston tool, along with various Allen wrenches. At the bottom, there are decals and an instruction manual. Oh, wait until you see the vintage graphics on the front of the manual! The nostalgic look of this Team Associated car is truly something I adore.

Unleashing Childhood Memories

Sitting here in front of this pile of parts, I can’t help but reminisce about my racing days in the 80s. My very first race car back then was the Tamiya Falcon, followed by the turbo Ultima from Kosho. Eventually, I also got my hands on the Team Losi JRX2, but the desire for an RC10 still lingered. However, being the eager enthusiast I was, the allure of the JerSu couldn’t be resisted. It was the new big thing, and I had to try it out.

But now, as I look at this RC car in front of me, memories flood back. I remember the exhilarating races with the RC10, the countless hours spent tearing up the track. These were the moments when off-road racing brought so much joy and excitement. Such fun cars they were!

And now, with my own kids by my side, we are about to embark on a new adventure – building this RC car together. Explaining the different parts, sharing our thoughts, and capturing it all on video. This will be my next project, my next journey into the world of RC cars.
