DJI Osmo Pocket 3: A Substitute for Pro Studio Gear
As you may have noticed, the studio doesn’t quite have the same appeal it once did. The reason behind this unfortunate change is that I have been forced to sell all my existing camera gear that I used for Pro Studio work. In its place, I am now utilizing a DJI Osmo Pocket 3, which costs only a fraction of my previous setup. I hope this substitute will suffice for you, my dear viewers, as your satisfaction is what truly matters to me. However, I do find myself missing the familiar feel of shooting with my previous camera.
Natural Light Filming at the Skate Park
Today, I find myself filming at the skate park, attempting to capture the best shots possible using natural lighting. I believe this setup will allow me to showcase the Arrma Granite GROM in its true glory. But I mustn’t forget to mention the raffle that I have organized, which is designed to support my channel. I strive not to be just another reviewer who receives products and simply regurgitates what they’re paid to say. Instead, I want to delve into some lesser-known aspects of the Arrma Granite GROM. Stay tuned for that.
Arrma Granite GROM: The Good and the Not-So-Good
I must admit, I really do like this truck. It has a lot going for it. However, there are some aspects that I simply can’t ignore and, quite frankly, I dislike. In the spirit of transparency, I want to highlight both the positives and the negatives of this RC truck. So, let’s dive into the nitty-gritty details and discuss what makes the Arrma Granite GROM stand out, as well as the aspects that leave something to be desired.
Support the Channel
Before we venture any further, I would like to remind you, my loyal viewers, that the best way to support my channel is by participating in our raffle. With just a small fee, you have the chance to enter and potentially win fantastic prizes. Your support allows me to continue creating content that I hope you find valuable. So, don’t miss out on this opportunity to show your support for the channel and potentially win something great!
The Competitive Section of the Hobby
Arrma Granite GROM has entered a very competitive section of the hobby, and it deserves commendation for that. With so many RC trucks available in this scale, Arrma has managed to throw in its own contender. While there are other brilliant RC cars like the High boxing DRC and offerings from companies like FTX, in my opinion, the Grom stands out as one of the best-looking trucks in its class.
A Brilliant Clipless Body System
One of the standout features of the Arrma Granite GROM is its clipless body system. It’s a brilliant design that allows for easy removal and installation of the body. However, the durability of this system over time remains to be seen. Nevertheless, I believe that the replacement parts for this system will be affordable, making it a practical choice for RC enthusiasts.
Straight Out of the Box
When testing the Granite GROM, I decided to run it straight out of the box to see what it could do. While I should have used some spring tension adjusters to reduce chassis slap at the skate park, I wanted an authentic experience with the stock setup. And I must say, it exceeded my expectations.
A Thoughtful Package
Arrma has also included some thoughtful additions in the package. Firstly, the GROM comes with the tools needed to work on the car, so you don’t have to worry about purchasing additional tools. Additionally, you even get four batteries for the controller included in the box. This attention to detail shows that Arrma values the needs and convenience of their customers.
In conclusion, the Arrma Granite GROM is not just another RC truck. It has made its mark in a highly competitive section of the hobby with its appealing design and practical features. Whether you’re a casual RC enthusiast or a passionate racer, the GROM has something to offer. So, if you’re considering adding a new RC truck to your collection, the Arrma Granite GROM is definitely worth considering.
Power and Switch
The Arrma Granite GROM has a plastic construction, which may deter some enthusiasts. However, I appreciate the switch that allows for power reduction. It’s a useful feature if you want to hand it over to a toddler or simply tone down the power. It offers the flexibility to turn down the power to 25, which is quite convenient. On the whole, the way it fits in your hand is quite comfortable. But I do wish it had a flat bottom for easy placement on the ground.
Granite GROM’s Appeal
In spite of its minor flaws, I genuinely like the Arrma Granite GROM. It has impressed me with its overall performance. However, the real issue lies with the compatibility of the spectrum system. While it works decently, it doesn’t integrate well with other components. This has prompted me to consider selling the battery and replacing the ESC connector with a Deans connector. Additionally, I plan to use larger batteries with higher C ratings. Until I upgrade to a brushless setup, these modifications are necessary.
Technical Masterpiece
I must admit, the Granite GROM is a technical masterpiece in many ways. The design and layout of the truck are incredibly well thought out, resulting in optimum functionality. Moreover, its durability is beyond impressive. However, I can’t help but draw a parallel between this impressive technicality and the Apple iMac’s infamous compatibility issue with other devices.
Camera Mishap
On a personal note, I sold all my camera gear due to financial constraints, and this is currently the only camera I have for filming. Unfortunately, during my testing of the Granite GROM, a mishap occurred. Thankfully, the camera endured only minor scratches and continues to function well. It’s quite fortunate that the camera held up despite the pounding it took during the testing.
The Power Dilemma
I haven’t really felt like it. Didn’t have enough power, I know we all like power, it’s like watching Top Gear, but do you know what? I think it’s enough. And if you’ve got kids, it’s definitely enough. This Arrma Granite GROM is really strong. I don’t have any issues with its power.
The Proprietary System
I do have issues with that proprietary system that Spectrum uses. It can be a bit of a hassle at times. However, apart from that, the Arrma Granite GROM performs really well. I’ve had no problems with the body Clips either. In my opinion, my little Quick Clip showing you the best way to take it off can be helpful.
A Gift Idea for Christmas
If you were thinking about getting your loved one an RC car for Christmas, there are cheaper options available. However, I’m not sure if there are better options out there. Maybe if you really want the power, then the HBX that I’m going to be reviewing next will be better. But if you want to take this platform and put a brushless system in it, this thing would be mental. Of course, that might also result in some parts breaking.
A Final Word
I’m going to sign off for now. Don’t forget to have a go in a raffle below, guys. I’m Dwight for RC, daddy reviews. Bye for now and oh, before we go, guys, I’m going to show you how I do it. Put your fingers in and back, and you’ll feel the tabs, and bang, it comes off really easy. And to get it on… well, that’s a whole different story.

Once you’ve achieved the perfect alignment, a simple push on the center piece will lock it securely in place. It’s a seamless process that gives you peace of mind, knowing that your bumper won’t wobble or come loose during your RC escapades.
