The World First RC Advent Calendar – Day 1 (Traxxas!)
Welcome to the world’s first RC Advent Calendar! Behind each of the 25 doors, you will discover a new video featuring a variety of RC cars, trucks, and even some unique surprises. Thanks to my wife’s brilliant idea, we brought this concept to life. So let’s dive into Day 1 and see what’s behind the first door!
A Surprising Start
As I open the door, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and curiosity. What could be waiting for us today? Will it be something brand new or maybe even an unreleased item? The possibilities are endless, and that’s what makes this advent calendar so intriguing.
An Unexpected Twist
Today, we unleash the power of Traxxas! Known for their high-quality RC vehicles, Traxxas never fails to impress. As I carefully unwrap the surprise, I can’t help but appreciate the craftsmanship and attention to detail put into each of their products. It’s truly a sight to behold.
Thrilling Rides Await
Behind the first door lies a Traxxas RC car, ready to hit the road. Its sleek design and powerful performance make it a force to be reckoned with. Whether you’re an RC enthusiast or just someone looking for some thrilling entertainment, Traxxas never disappoints.

A Surprising Traxxas Find
Oh, what a surprise it was to open my Christmas calendar and find a Traxxas behind the first door. I never expected it! Even though I assembled the calendar myself, I had no idea which door hid the Traxxas. But now here it is, the 116th scale Traxxas Mustang Boss, dated around 2011. Officially licensed, yet it has a slightly tuned appearance, like one of those squashed-up cartoons. These models are not very common, so it’s a real treat to have one.
A Brushless Beast
I purchased this Traxxas Mustang Boss along with a Summit VXL. This particular model is equipped with the brushless motor, providing powerful and efficient performance. I believe there is also a brushed version available. Unfortunately, I already broke a drive shaft on the Summit VXL, but I will be sharing a video of that incident sometime next year. As for this Traxxas Mustang Boss, I haven’t had the chance to drive it yet, but it seems like it hasn’t been driven much before I acquired it. Sadly, this model has been discontinued, but you can still find similar 1/16th scale Traxxas vehicles on the market.
A Hope for Functionality
I hope everything works well with this Traxxas Mustang Boss. The motor appears to be a 390 size, and I’m crossing my fingers that the ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) is in good working condition. If not, this video might be much shorter than expected. Additionally, it seems like the gearing on this car is on the higher side, which should provide some thrilling speed when I finally get the opportunity to test it out.

Traxxas Inventions: Tiny Spur and Big Pinion
In today’s edition of the WORLD FIRST RC Advent Calendar, we are excited to showcase a Traxxas RC car. One interesting feature is the combination of a tiny little spur and a big old pinion. This unique setup is designed for speed runs, providing an exhilarating experience for RC enthusiasts.
Lever Style Suspension and Oil Shocks
Traxxas unveils its innovative lever style suspension, alongside oil shocks, which contribute to a smoother and more enjoyable ride. The suspension system, a creation by Traxxas, enhances stability and control, ensuring a seamless driving experience.
The Twin Battery Trays
One impressive feature of this RC car is its twin battery trays. These battery trays accommodate multiple batteries, offering extended playtime. A convenient design that ensures uninterrupted excitement.
An Unanticipated Battery Surprise
Upon inspection, it was discovered that the RC car came with a battery already installed. An unexpected surprise, but a welcome one. The battery, now in the process of charging, will enable prolonged enjoyment of this fascinating RC car.
Decent Condition and Stock Features
The overall condition of the RC car appears to be quite decent, considering it is a secondhand item. It seems to have all its original components intact, making it a promising addition to any RC collection. Although there is a small dent on the motor and some exposed cord, the car’s integrity remains uncompromised.
Tires and Weather Conditions
The tires of this Traxxas RC car are of a sturdy compound, which may be ideal for certain conditions. However, considering the cold weather, it remains to be seen how the tires will fare outdoors. With the low temperatures, the car might experience some sliding and limited traction.
Modifications: Upgraded Batteries
In an effort to enhance the RC car’s performance, the batteries have been upgraded. The original batteries have been replaced with smaller yet more powerful ones. These new batteries, known as cnhl, promise to provide a punchier performance. With an adapter, the new batteries are seamlessly integrated into the car.
Transmitter Troubles and Adjustments
The setup of the RC car includes two transmitters. Initially, it was unclear which one would be preferred. However, after a few moments of experimentation, one of the transmitters proved to be more suitable. It is essential to ensure a secure and comfortable fit, adjusting any tightness or meshing issues for optimal performance.
The Traxxas Link
I thought this might have TSM, but it doesn’t. What I do have, though, is the Traxxas link, so we can do a speed run on the GPS and see what Traxxas are telling us it to do anyway. Let’s give it a run before we go.
A Speedrun and Christmas Bundle
Have a look at the speedrun. If you would like a chance to win this Christmas bundle, there is a link in the description below. You’re going to get a brand new HPI Savage EXs flux, an expert built Tamia on the m5m platform, Mugan CRX Pro – such a nice car. I’d take the little cover off to show you, but I want to leave it new for you. The FMS ALU 35 is a GTR style, one that is brand new out limited edition. Tamico dancing Rider that is number 259 of 333 released still new and sealed, a Rado carbon fiber 1/12 scale buggy, and the new Turbo Racing C50 little 1/76 scale semi truck. So check out the link in the description to the price competition and you could win all of this.
No Speed Runs Today
Well, we ain’t getting any speed runs done here. Those tires look like they have no chance on this surface. I might have to go and put some foams on it. Oh well, let’s give it a little blip. Then I might have to go put some foams on, presuming we can fit foams. It’s a nice day today, but it’s just cold, so nothing’s dry. And apparently, there are no satellites about today either. Come on, warm your tires up while we’re waiting for satellites.
Traxxas RC Advent Calendar Day 1 – First Impressions
2000 years later, I find myself holding the all-new Traxxas RC Advent Calendar in my hands. Excitement builds as I prepare to unveil the world’s first RC advent calendar. The anticipation is palpable as I eagerly open the first day’s surprise, Traxxas!
Traction and Full Throttle
As I maneuver the remote control, I notice the sticky triggers, slightly annoying but something I can overlook. Traction is the key here, and I hit the road with fervor. Full throttle, and we’re off! The speed seems good, breaking into a slide around the curve. Impressive. Another burst of full throttle, but it’s not as fast as I expected. Full speed again, still not quite there.
Surprisingly Good Performance
Well, this saves me some time. Initial thoughts made me believe I needed special foams for speed, but 30 mph straight out of the box on 2s isn’t bad at all. Maybe I underestimated this little thing. Let’s find out what the Traxxas link says. Oh dear, I’ve never used it before. Are we even connected? It doesn’t seem to be working, but I won’t let that deter me. Let’s keep going.
A Bit of a Hoon
I give this Traxxas a bit of a hoon around, fully aware that the wet weather will turn it into a slide. But perhaps these tires just need a bit of breaking in. With a little bit of traction, this beast should drive perfectly fine. And there it is – we’ve entered into a Traxxas drift run. Surprisingly, the control is not as bad as I expected on this surface. It’s quite controllable, considering I’m driving it one-handed. The speedometer reads 30 mph, and it appears that it could have been geared a bit higher. But I guess these run on 3s, so I need to be gentle with the throttle.
And that’s it. The Traxxas RC Advent Calendar unveils its first surprise, leaving me wondering what the next day will bring. The world’s first RC advent calendar has promised excitement, and it has surely delivered on Day 1. Stay tuned for more exhilarating discoveries in the days to come.
Initial Impressions
The WORLD FIRST RC Advent Calendar has kicked off with a bang on Day 1, featuring the Traxxas car. This little wonder, also available in Fiesta and NASCAR editions, has caught my attention. Upon first glance, the NASCAR one looks particularly sleek and irresistible. I can already imagine the thrill of driving it.
Testing the Waters
While taking the Traxxas car for a spin, I couldn’t help but notice how it effortlessly hooked up on the surface. The tires, although not perfect, still managed to provide a decent amount of grip. As I cautiously maneuvered the car, it began to grow on me. This little car is indeed off to a promising start in the advent calendar.
On the Speed Front
For those curious about the car’s speed, Traxxas claims it can reach a maximum speed of 30 miles per hour right out of the box with a nickel metal hydride. In less than optimal conditions, I achieved this speed. However, with improved traction and warmer weather, it can potentially hit 35 mph with an additional nickel metal hydride. Traxxas mentions that it can even reach an impressive 50 mph with a 3s lipo and a speed connector. Exciting possibilities lie ahead!
Plans for the Future
As I reflect on my initial experience with this Traxxas car, I am confident in declaring it a keeper. I am fully determined to embark on a hunt to acquire the NASCAR edition and perhaps experiment with different body mounts. Upgrading the wheels and tires also seems like a logical next step to enhance performance. And of course, as the weather starts to improve, a 3s run to truly test the limits of this car is on the horizon.
In conclusion, the Traxxas car has proven to be a solid contender on Day 1 of the WORLD FIRST RC Advent Calendar. With its potential for increased speed and various customization options, this miniature marvel is set to bring joy and excitement for many more thrilling days to come.
Day 1: The World First RC Advent Calendar (Traxxas!)
That is the plan. You didn’t think I was going to leave you hanging three cell and some Foams on there. Here we go Full Throttle.
Impressive Speed
Wow, that’s fast. Break, whoa. Sorry, Traxxas fans about this – is it rare? I don’t know, just smashed into a curb, oops. That was scooting along though, wow, 44 mph. Let’s go again. So, I don’t know what that speed thing is that tracks are saying, I don’t know if it’s got a highs, speed pinion on it, but that’s fast. B front again: oh oh 3s.
Reliability Guaranteed
Never disappoints ises. It definitely going to get the NASCAR body for this, 44. Music again, 45. That will do, that is day one of the RC Advent calendar. Over, I’ll see.
