The ARRMA Tornado: A Force to be Reckoned With

The ARRMA Tornado is making waves in the RC racing community, and it’s no wonder why. This beast of a machine is set to take on the competition with its powerful brushless motor and impressive speed capabilities. With a top speed of over 50 mph, this is not a toy for the faint of heart.

A Range of Options

One of the most exciting aspects of the ARRMA Tornado is the range of options available to customers. With four different body styles and a variety of colors, there is sure to be a design that catches your eye. Whether you prefer a sleek and futuristic look or something more bold and vibrant, ARRMA has you covered.

A Plethora of Features

When it comes to performance, the ARRMA Tornado does not disappoint. Equipped with a state-of-the-art suspension system, this RC car provides a smooth ride even on the toughest of terrains. The strong and sturdy build ensures that the car can handle whatever you throw at it, while the plush wheels provide added comfort during those intense races.

A Well-Designed Transmitter

The transmitter that comes with the ARRMA Tornado is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. With its square shape and ergonomic design, it fits comfortably in your hand, allowing for precise control over the car. The steering and throttle trim options, as well as the ability to limit the speed, provide a customizable driving experience.

Traxxas: A Competitor to Watch

While the ARRMA Tornado is certainly turning heads, we must not forget about Traxxas, another major player in the RC racing industry. Traxxas has built a reputation for producing high-quality and reliable RC cars, and they are not about to back down from the challenge presented by ARRMA.

A Fierce Competition

With both ARRMA and Traxxas vying for the top spot in the RC racing world, it’s safe to say that we are in for some exciting times ahead. As enthusiasts, we can only hope for more innovations, more speed, and more exhilarating races. The competition between these two giants is sure to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of RC racing.

Remember to watch out for ARRMA and Traxxas as they continue to battle it out on the track. It’s anyone’s game, and the future looks bright for the world of RC racing. So buckle up, hold on tight, and get ready for the ride of a lifetime.

Impressive Size and Design

When it comes to radio-controlled trucks, size matters. And from what I can gather, ARRMA and Traxxas have certainly upped their game in that department. Just take a look at the size of that wheelie bar! It’s massive! But what really caught my attention is the center differential. It seems that these trucks boast a 30% larger differential compared to your usual 1/8 scale models. That’s quite impressive if you ask me.

A Bold New Look

Now, I don’t have all the details, but it seems that this particular model, branded as the Mustang, is not available in the UK. Nevertheless, it does look really nice. I love the color scheme, although I wish they offered it in more options. The soft compound tires with inserts definitely add to the overall appeal. And those wheels, they are massive! This truck is definitely turning heads in the RC community.

An Innovative Body Securing System

One interesting feature that caught my eye is the body securing system. It seems that all you have to do is push the top, and the body pops off. It might require two hands, but it looks like a sturdy mechanism. Nothing groundbreaking, but it gets the job done. It’s little attention to detail like this that sets these trucks apart.

Impressive Build Quality

Digging deeper, I discovered that these trucks do not come with a battery included. However, upon examining the undercarriage, I can say that the build quality looks top-notch. The chassis seems substantial and well-designed. But what really stood out to me is the suspension system. It feels solid and capable of taking a beating. I’m confident that this truck can handle some serious off-road action.

Attention to Detail

Even in the small details, ARRMA and Traxxas have shown their commitment to quality. I noticed that they have even gone to the trouble of including a green EC5 connector. It’s a small touch, but it shows their attention to detail and the effort they put into their products.

Overall, I’m quite impressed with what I’ve seen so far of ARRMA and Traxxas’ latest offerings. From the size and design to the build quality and attention to detail, they seem to have really stepped up their game. If you’re a fan of RC trucks, keep an eye out for these models. They might just be the next big thing in the RC world.

Motor and ESC

The ARRMA and Traxxas models come equipped with a powerful 2200 KV brushless motor and a heat sink fan to prevent overheating. The 120 amp 4S ready ESC provides excellent support during intense play. It’s interesting to note that the motor seems to have a feature to prevent it from moving backwards, although the exact purpose of this support is still unclear. The quick access motor cover adds convenience, but it appears to be tightly secured and may require some effort to open.

Chassis and Suspension

The chassis of these models features a strong brace for added stability. Velcro battery straps ensure that the battery stays securely in place during high-speed maneuvers. A center shaft runs through the chassis, suggesting the presence of a third differential. Surprisingly, the center differential is not positioned in the center, but rather towards the front. This configuration could have some interesting effects on the vehicle’s handling.

The suspension system consists of double wishbones and appears to lack adjustability. Some users have pointed out the absence of metal adjustable turnbuckles, which are commonly used to fine-tune the suspension setup for different conditions. It remains to be seen how the stock suspension performs during extreme bashing sessions.

Shocks and Drivetrain

The shocks on these models are described as “Big B oil shocks.” While it is unclear what the exact specifications of these shocks are, they are believed to be plastic-bodied and might not offer the same durability as the alloy shocks typically found on similar-sized models. However, if they prove to be effective in providing a smooth and controlled ride, their material may not be a significant concern.

The telescopic drive shafts in both the front and rear of the vehicle are made of plastic. While plastic drive shafts may not be as robust as their metal counterparts, they can still handle the rigors of off-road driving, especially when paired with a capable suspension system.

Fine Factory Set Up

When it comes to the setup of a vehicle, if it is done well at the factory, there is often no need for any changes. This is not only convenient but also attests to good quality. It is often said that strong plastics tend to last longer than turnbuckles, and I agree with this statement. So, if the factory setup is done right, there is no need for adjustability in big bashers.

Impressive Build

Taking a closer look at the vehicle, it is worth noting the impressive build. It features big shocks at the back, a huge wheelie bar, and hex hardware underneath. The bottom arms are chunky and the front and rear bumpers are sturdy. The differentials feel smooth, and overall, the vehicle has a great look and feel.

Testing the Speed

According to the box, this vehicle claims to reach a speed of 50 plus. It’s time to put that to the test and see how fast it actually is. However, before taking it out for a spin, a thorough examination of the motor is necessary. At first glance, the motor doesn’t appear to be very big, considering the size of the vehicle. One can only hope that it won’t encounter any issues or melt under pressure. It’s always better to test it first and ensure its functionality before taking it out for a proper run.

The Thrill of Control

Equipped with a lanyard for safety, it’s time to try out the vehicle. Steering feels relatively strong and responsive, and the throttle delivers a powerful kick. The only downside is that the vehicle is quite loud, but that can be overlooked when considering its capabilities. With metal gears, it seems that this vehicle will be able to tackle some exciting, and hopefully controllable, maneuvers in the air.

Although watch out, ARRMA and Traxxas, because this vehicle seems to have the potential to offer some serious competition.

ARRMA vs Traxxas: A Showdown of RC Powerhouses

When it comes to the world of remote-controlled vehicles, ARRMA and Traxxas are two names that stand out from the rest. These giants have dominated the market, offering quality and power that enthusiasts can’t resist. But with the latest release from ARRMA, it seems like Traxxas might need to watch their back.

An Impressive Design

The new ARRMA Big Rock is catching the attention of RC fanatics everywhere. With a 1/10 scale size that rivals its competitors, this vehicle boasts a longer wheelbase, giving it an edge over Traxxas models like the Granite. Additionally, the Big Rock’s wider frame and larger wheels give it a unique aesthetic that screams power.

A Thrilling Speed

Speed is the name of the game, and ARRMA doesn’t disappoint. With the Big Rock, you can expect to reach speeds of up to 50 mph, according to the packaging. And if that’s not impressive enough, the vehicle’s performance on the road confirms its power. Whether you’re doing speed runs or simply enjoying a thrilling ride, the Big Rock delivers.

Unmatched Durability

One of the key aspects that sets ARRMA apart from the competition is its exceptional durability. The Big Rock comes equipped with a 14mm hex and a spline adapter, ensuring that your wheels stay securely in place even during the most intense off-road adventures. The inclusion of an 8mm lock nut further enhances stability, making it a reliable choice for RC enthusiasts.

Challenging Traxxas’ Dominance

Traxxas has long been considered a leader in the RC industry, with their reliable and high-performance vehicles. However, the arrival of the ARRMA Big Rock poses a serious threat to their dominance. With its impressive features and performance, ARRMA is proving that they have what it takes to establish themselves as a top competitor.

The Final Verdict

While it’s too early to tell how this showdown will play out, one thing is clear – ARRMA is a force to be reckoned with. The Big Rock’s design, speed, and durability are all factors that make it a formidable opponent for Traxxas. RC enthusiasts around the world eagerly await the outcome of this battle of the giants.

Ballooning Tires and Thrilling Speed

I am standing behind this curb for this one come on in full, FR whoa, whoa, whoa ballooning tires. That is the problem with ballooning tires. Full Throttle break break break. Oh, I didn’t hold it for long enough. Then I want to. I need to hold it full for longer this thing’s going to be a menace at the skate park Full Throttle there we go that will do its got so much power. Obviously, 4S just sits on that. Wheelie bar whoa come on 50 bang on bang on 50 mph its cold today as well, its about 9 Centigrade, so single figures, so that would do 50 plus on a nice hot day.

Challenges and Adaptation

I am sure right let’s go to give it a bash, so I wanted to get this on a dirt track and I’ve just driven an hour to the dirt track. I usually go on and they were cutting trees down. So I could go there. So I’ve come all the way back to my other usual spot, I’ve not been here for a while look at the state of it. So I think we’re on plan C now, which is the skate park which was going to be in this video anyway. I just wanted to give it a bit of a rip around on some like dirt or grass. First world problems. I know, although I’m sure it absolutely rips on grass. You can certainly see this one be safe, be SE, oh right anyway, what were we doing?

Unleashing the Beast

Skate park, to be honest with you anyway, over there, my truck record is not great. But this is where ARRMA and Traxxas need to watch out. This beast of a RC car, with its monstrous power and control, is ready to dominate any skate park it enters. The sheer speed and agility of this machine will leave competitors trailing behind in awe.

A Menace on Wheels

As I maneuver this beast through the skate park, I can feel the adrenaline rush through my veins. The power it possesses is simply mind-boggling. With each Full Throttle, I can see it effortlessly conquer obstacles and perform mind-blowing stunts. The wheelie bar is just an added accessory, as this beast can go beyond wheelies and reach unprecedented speeds.

The Ultimate Thrill

On a cold day like today, with temperatures barely reaching the double digits, this RC car proves its mettle by hitting a steady 50 mph. Just imagine what it could achieve on a scorching hot day. It’s a force to be reckoned with, pushing the limits and thrilling any daredevil who gets behind the wheel.

With its ability to handle various terrains, from dirt tracks to skate parks, this RC car is a true all-rounder. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, it surprises you with its versatility and endless possibilities.

ARRMA and Traxxas: A Fierce Competition

ARRMA and Traxxas have long been two major players in the world of remote-controlled cars, renowned for their high-performance and durability. However, a new contender has emerged, ready to give them a run for their money. Watch out, ARRMA and Traxxas, because there’s a new player in town!

The Thrill of Testing

As an avid RC enthusiast, I’ve had my fair share of experiences with different brands and models. When it comes to ARRMA and Traxxas, I can confidently say that I’ve been there, done that. But recently, I had the opportunity to test out a range of new RC cars that have been making waves in the community.

A Familiar Feel

The first model I got my hands on was the latest offering from ARRMA. It had a certain familiarity to it, reminiscent of their popular Armor 3S. The control in the air was smooth and the direct steering added to the overall experience. In fact, pulling off a cheeky backflip required minimal effort, thanks to its impressive power.

A Series of Unexpected Twists

However, not everything went according to plan during my test runs. On one occasion, the car performed a rather unusual maneuver, resembling a bunny hop followed by an unexpected flip. It was a strange occurrence, considering how well it had been performing just moments before. Mother Nature seemed to have a hand in this, as the sunny skies turned into thunderous clouds.

Unleashing the Power

Undeterred by the weather, I took the ARRMA model to a dirt track that unfortunately prohibited running at full speed. This 4S truck was meant to flaunt its power, but under the circumstances, I had to settle for 3S. Even with this slight setback, the backflips were still impressive, showcasing the true capabilities of the vehicle.

The Downside of Thrills

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. The occasional shassy slap, where the chassis hit the ground, sent shivers down my spine. Imagining the force reverberating through the car made me cringe at the potential damage. Landing flat on the ground may have been a great test for the durability of the RC car, but it certainly wasn’t ideal for its longevity.

A Glimpse of Power

Nevertheless, the ARRMA model proved its worth with its unparalleled power. It seamlessly hooked up to various terrains, thanks to its well-tuned differentials. The only downside was its tendency to experience front differential issues, especially during sharp turns. However, this minor hiccup didn’t deter me from pushing the limits of the car.

Conquering Challenges

One particular challenge I enjoyed was attempting a rail slide. Though I only managed to successfully perform it once, the thrill of the attempt was undeniable. The ARRMA model was up for the challenge, even if I wasn’t able to stick the landing. It was a testament to the car’s capabilities, showcasing its potential for even more exhilarating feats.

A New Rival on the Horizon

As my testing continued, it became clear that ARRMA and Traxxas may soon have some

Watch Out ARRMA! (and Traxxas)

As soon as it landed, I knew I was in for a wild ride. The anticipation was palpable, but I had to keep going. Unfortunately, getting a spare one at the moment was out of the question, especially since it wasn’t available in the UK yet. But hey, no time to dwell on that now.

The Big Jump

“If you’ve only got a few more landings, let’s go for the big jump,” I thought to myself. Of course, this could potentially go horribly wrong if I hit that railing. Crashing was never pleasant, and the music playing in the background certainly wasn’t helping set the right mood.

Nevertheless, I gathered my courage and prepared for the leap. This may be the last jump, I told myself, so let’s make it count. Miraculously, it survived! It narrowly scraped against a corner, avoiding a disastrous collision. I didn’t think I was going to make it, but somehow luck was on my side that time.

But wait, were we still good? I couldn’t believe it. Despite the rough landing, everything was still intact and holding on. Okay, let’s do some more, I thought, feeling a mix of excitement and disbelief.

The Record-breaking Jump

Another idea popped into my head. Why not push the limits even further? This would surely be the last jump, but it could potentially set a record. With determination, I steered the vehicle towards the ramp, ready to hit it with all the power it had.

As the moment arrived, I remembered a similar jump I had done with WL toys just before that ramp. If I could hit the ramp the same way, it would be a true feat. The adrenaline rushed through my veins as I accelerated towards the ramp, fully aware that this could end in disaster.

And there it was, the jump. The vehicle flew through the air, hitting the ramp in a slightly crooked manner. By all accounts, it should have been a catastrophe. But to my amazement, it survived. How was it still holding on? How had the arm not fallen off yet?

The Breakage

Inspecting the damage, I realized that it wasn’t a clean break. The arm hadn’t sheared or snapped off like brittle plastic. Instead, it had somehow managed to hang on, defying all the odds. It left me perplexed, wondering how such a delicate piece could withstand so much strain without completely giving way.

As I reflected on my experience, I couldn’t help but think about the competition in the RC vehicle industry. ARRMA and Traxxas, watch out! This adventure has truly showcased the durability and resilience of this vehicle, leaving me in awe of its potential. If it can withstand all that I threw at it, who knows what else it’s capable of?

Watch Out ARRMA! (and Traxxas)

However, I hit on that corner, just sort of twisted and pulled it off, but can’t believe it’s surviving. I feel like I should just stop running it now. Just to not break it on Music purpose, Music, Applause, Music – they thing just keeps taking Music it!

The Workshop Inspection

No, why well? We are driving back to the car, not much drives away from es skatee par, solid, jumping back flipping crashing, and I don’t have to carry it right. Let’s go back to the workshop and have a good look over and see if there’s any more damage other than that uh front arm.

A Closer Look

That was an intense session before we talk about like the damage and everything like that, this body, I wasn’t sure at first, but look how easy it is to get off. You literally just hold under hold it under there. Push on the top, comes up same at the back, and it’s off. Oh, this is a bit stinky suspension. Steel feels nice.

Impressive Durability

The body took a bit of a hit. There split there bit of a knock just in there just down there, not bad, considering the weight of this. How many times I landed on its roof, so no issues with the drivetrain motor didn’t move, didn’t strip. Any gears diffs are still feeling nice and smooth all good at the back here plenty of scuff, but nothing broken this side, no problems.

A Resilient Beast

And then yeah, it’s moving a bit more than it was, but it just held up and it’s kind of hard to tell. Watch out ARRMA (and Traxxas), this RC car keeps defying the odds and pushing through the challenges. It seems to have a resilience that can withstand the most extreme conditions, making it a force to be reckoned with in the RC world.

Watch Out ARRMA! (and Traxxas)

Upon close examination, it appears that the plastic component in question has not snapped or split, but rather been forcefully torn away. This suggests that the plastic used is not brittle, contrary to initial impressions. Although I have yet to review the footage, I am convinced that the damage was a result of a faulty landing rather than a manufacturing defect.

The Chassis Conundrum

As I observe the drone, I notice a split in the chassis right underneath the motor. While the gear mesh seems fine, there is slight movement that is concerning. It seems that repeated hard landings on concrete have exerted enough force to push the motor down and cause this damage. While I am unsure about the availability of spare parts in the UK, as it has not been released here yet, I did manage to find a bottom arm on a German website. It was priced in dollars, which raises concerns about the accessibility of essential components.

A Comparison to the Armory 3S

Although this is the first time I have encountered a broken chassis on the Armory 3S range, I have come across instances where users have snapped them. However, under the circumstances, I believe it has held up remarkably well. From my experience with the 3S model, I can confidently say that the performance of this drone is on par with its predecessors. Its sleek design and responsive controls make for an enjoyable driving experience. The ease with which it executes backflips at the push of a button adds to its allure. It is imperative, though, that the availability of spare parts does not hinder the owner’s overall experience.

Conclusion

Despite some potential concerns regarding adjustability and the use of plastic components, the ARRMA and Traxxas models still offer a compelling choice for RC enthusiasts. With their powerful motor, reliable ESC, and sturdy chassis, these models are built to deliver thrilling off-road action. While their performance in extreme bashing situations remains to be seen, the inclusion of quality components such as velcro battery straps and Big B oil shocks demonstrates a commitment to providing a well-rounded RC experience. It’s clear that these models should not be taken lightly by their competitors, as they have the potential to shake up the market. Watch out ARRMA and Traxxas – there’s some serious competition on the horizon!
