So, let’s dive into this cool trick and get your Traxxas XMaxx back in shape!

The Traxxas XMaxx: A Perfect Mess

Introduction to Chaos

Welcome back to the channel as we dive into the chaotic world of RC vog. Today, we will embark on a wild adventure full of unexpected twists and turns with our beloved Traxxas XMaxx. Strap yourselves in and prepare for the mayhem that awaits.

A Surprise Kit

Recently, a generous Patreon supporter named Michael sent me a huler toe kit for my Traxxas XMaxx. Needless to say, I was thrilled! Finally, the time had come to put this magnificent creation on my hauler. And my oh my, it did not disappoint. The moment I laid eyes on this little contraption, I was in awe.

The Pivot Point: A True Marvel

But let me show you the best part about this kit. Just feast your eyes on this. Can you believe it? The huler toe kit has a mind of its own! With a little torque and finesse, it pivots. Yes, you heard that right. It pivots! As you straighten out the platform on which the front wheels rest, the kit effortlessly follows suit. It’s a mesmerizing sight to behold, let me tell you.

A Dream Come True

Now, let’s explore the practical side of this kit. I decided to put it to the test with some thrilling speed runs. I must say, it surpassed all expectations. The huler toe kit proved to be not only sturdy but also an incredible enhancement to my Traxxas XMaxx. Each run was an adrenaline-pumping experience, leaving me thirsting for more.

A Closer Look

For those curious to see the kit in all its glory, allow me to present it without the car. The bands securely hold it in place, making it an indispensable part of my RC adventures. This ingenious piece is brought to us by a company called AJC mods, and it’s an absolute game-changer. Kudos to them for creating such a masterpiece.

The Quandary

Amidst the exhilaration and joy, I find myself faced with a dilemma. The Traxxas XMaxx was already a beast on its own, but with the huler toe kit, it has become even more unruly… in the most delightful way. The sheer power and control this combination offers is a mesmerizing enigma. It’s a tangled web of excitement and perplexity that I cannot resist.

The Traxxas XMaxx: A Messed Up Adventure

An Unexpected Gift

Just recently, a kind Patreon supporter sent me the Traxxas XMaxx as a gift. He believed it would be the perfect addition to my collection, and boy, was he right! This incredible RC monster truck is unlike anything I’ve seen before.

A Surprising Modification

Not only is the Traxxas XMaxx visually impressive, but it also offers a unique modification option that I had never encountered before. By adding a winch, this beast can now rise and lower with ease. It’s a mesmerizing feature that adds another level of excitement to an already thrilling experience. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a winch to install, so I can only dream of the possibilities.

An Easy and Cool Installation

Installing the Traxxas XMaxx was surprisingly straightforward. While there were a few challenges along the way, such as putting in the bearings, a simple trick with a vice made the process significantly easier. I was left in awe of this cool hop-up for the Traxxas hauler, craving more upgrades and modifications.

An RC Demo Gone Wrong

Recently, I had the opportunity to showcase the Traxxas XMaxx during an RC demo for the Boy Scouts of America. Excitement filled the air as I pushed this beast to its limits, sending it soaring through the air with incredible jumps. However, disaster struck during one of these stunts.

As the Traxxas XMaxx landed awkwardly, a tire came loose and went flying off into the distance. Additionally, one of the arms became stretched beyond its limits. It was clear that the damage was far more extensive than initially anticipated.

A Broken Beauty

Now, take a look at this magnificent machine. Though I purposely turned the Traxxas XMaxx slightly to the right to enhance the effect, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s in quite a sad state. The once-perfect RC monster truck now bears the scars of its ambitious jumps and unfortunate mishaps.

In conclusion, the Traxxas XMaxx has definitely had its fair share of adventures. From the awe-inspiring modification potential to the unexpected accidents during the RC demo, this beast has proven to be both a thrill and a source of frustration. Nevertheless, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement as I imagine the endless possibilities for repairs and upgrades. It’s time to get this Traxxas XMaxx back on the road for more thrilling rides!

The Troubles with My Traxxas XMaxx

Stretched Arms and Shifting Parts

Upon first glance, my Traxxas XMaxx may not appear to be in terrible condition. However, beneath the surface lies a series of mishaps and malfunctions. It all began when one of the arms on the vehicle stretched out, causing it to constantly pop off the pin. Initially, it was the rear arm that suffered this fate, but to my dismay, I soon discovered that the problem also affected the other side. This meant that I had to go through the hassle of replacing both upper arms on the Traxxas XMaxx.

To further complicate matters, during a particularly unfortunate crash, the back part of the vehicle experienced a major shift. As a result, it popped out of place and caused a misalignment. Determined to rectify the situation, I meticulously dismantled that section, carefully realigned everything, and painstakingly reassembled the Traxxas XMaxx. Despite encountering challenges along the way, including a popped pin in the outer bearing carrier, I managed to replace all the arms and fix various other issues.

Unwanted Noises and a Bent Drive Shaft

Eager to test out the seemingly rejuvenated Traxxas XMaxx, I took it for a spin. However, my excitement quickly turned to perplexity as I heard an unusual sound whenever I accelerated at full throttle. It was as if there was a baseball card flicking against the spokes of a bicycle wheel. Upon further investigation, I discovered the culprit behind the disconcerting noise – a bent drive shaft.

As the drive shaft spun, it repeatedly struck against the chass, resulting in the unpleasant sound. This further compounded my frustration with the already messed up Traxxas XMaxx. With this newest issue, the road to restoring my beloved RC vehicle seemed even more arduous.

Replacing the Drive Shaft

Upon inspection, it is evident that my Traxxas Xmaxx is in desperate need of a new drive shaft. The current one is worn out and no longer functional, which is hindering the overall performance of the vehicle. In order to rectify this issue, I have decided to replace the drive shaft with a new one.

Upgrading the Servo

While I have already disassembled the Traxxas Xmaxx, I have also decided to take this opportunity to upgrade the servo. I plan on installing a higher quality servo, like the Nitro Pro servo, which boasts a lifetime gear warranty. This is particularly important as the current gear system is prone to stripping, especially considering the immense weight of the vehicle and the massive Prime tires that I have installed. Despite the potential risk, I am willing to take it because these tires are simply amazing.

The Perils of Jumping

It seems that the frequent breakages I have experienced in the past were a result of the excessive weight and rotating mass of my Traxxas Xmaxx when going over jumps. While it may seem like a small sacrifice to make for the sheer joy and excitement of jumping, it is important to acknowledge the strain it puts on the vehicle. However, the allure of these jumps and the spectacle they create are enough to tempt me into taking such risks.

Heading to Traxxas for Repairs

Now that I have identified the issues with my Traxxas Xmaxx, it is time to embark on a journey to the Traxxas retail store to gather the necessary parts for repairs. It is staggering to think that this vehicle remained broken for so long, as it is not something I am accustomed to. In fact, the presence of a broken RC car tends to unsettle me and disrupt my sleep patterns. Hence, it is a relief to finally be taking action and resolving the issues at hand.

An Exciting Trip to the Store

As I arrive at the Traxxas store, I can’t help but feel a sense of exhilaration. This place holds a special place in my heart, as it is a haven for all RC enthusiasts. Upon entering, I am immediately greeted by Sinister, a fellow RC enthusiast and YouTube follower. His name is Chris, and he informs me that he frequents the local drift track, Drift America RC. We engage in a brief conversation about our shared passion before I proceed to explore the store.

New Xmaxx Upgrades

Excitement fills the air as I peruse the store’s shelves, discovering the array of new Xmaxx upgrades available. It is clear that Traxxas is constantly innovating and staying ahead of the game. With these new upgrades, I can’t help but feel a surge of anticipation, envisioning the enhanced performance and capabilities they will bring to my Traxxas Xmaxx. These upgrades will undoubtedly help to address the issues I have encountered in the past and further maximize my enjoyment of this remarkable RC car.

Center Drive Shaft

I know I’m working on my Xmaxx. I should put some of the stuff on, but I’m kind of on a time crunch because I’m trying to prepare for an event this weekend, so I don’t want to put any new stuff on yet. But we will do some of those things.

Um, also they have a whole bunch of screw and bearing kits out here, which is nice because if you have a car – and you know you’ve been working on a lot, you can just get the screw kit or if you want to upgrade to bearings. They also have stainless steel bearings, which is really cool. Apparently, they last longer and don’t rust as easy. Yeah, we’re going to try some of those out soon, but that’s not why I came.

Upgraded Servo

We got to get the stuff that we need, which is this guy right here. This is a center drive shaft for the Xmaxx. Not sure if y’all care about the part number, but there it is. And then this is what you need to upgrade the Xmaxx servo to a standard high torque servo. So this is a little adapter that you can put the servo in, and the Xmaxx servo is a lot larger than a normal standard size servo. So this kind of takes up the space.

Upgraded Spring and Servo Arm

I also got this, which is the upgraded spring and servo arm. It just makes the servo saver stiffer, so it’s got better control and response.

Having the right parts and upgrades for your Xmaxx is crucial, especially when you’re trying to prepare for an event. It’s important to ensure that your car is in top shape and performs at its best. The center drive shaft is a key component that connects the front and rear differentials, enabling smooth power transmission and handling. By upgrading the servo to a standard high torque servo, you can experience enhanced steering and control. The little adapter allows the larger Xmaxx servo to fit perfectly.

Additionally, the upgraded spring and servo arm improve the performance of the servo saver, providing stiffer resistance and better stability. This upgrade ensures that your servo system can handle the demands of intense off-road racing and maneuvering.

Traxxas offers a variety of options to upgrade and customize your Xmaxx. The availability of screw and bearing kits makes it convenient to replace any worn-out parts or enhance the durability of your vehicle. Consider opting for stainless steel bearings for greater longevity and resistance to rust.

In conclusion, investing in the right upgrades and accessories is crucial to ensure that your Traxxas Xmaxx performs at its best. With the center drive shaft, upgraded servo, and servo spring and arm upgrade, you can experience improved handling, control, and responsiveness. Take advantage of the available kits and options to customize your Xmaxx according to your preferences and needs. Gear up and get ready for an exciting and successful racing event!

Upgrading the Traxxas XMAXX

My Traxxas XMAXX is really giving me a hard time. It’s all messed up and in need of serious upgrades.

Replacing Parts

There are a couple of things that need immediate attention. The first is the issue of under steer. It’s not as bad as before, but still needs improvement. I’ve decided to upgrade both the steering and the suspension to address this problem.

Shopping for Upgrades

To fix these problems, I need to get my hands on some specific parts. I’m going to need the steering and suspension upgrades, as well as a new fortech body. One of my forte bodies is completely damaged and unusable. I also plan on painting the new body white, to match my actual Mustang.

Alright, time to do some shopping! I’ve got a list of the parts I need, so let’s see what’s available. Oh, and just to clarify, this is not a Traxxas retail store tour, it’s just me shopping for my upgrades. Apologies to anyone who was hoping for something different. Unboxing The RC Box Club

Now, let’s move on to something more exciting. I recently joined the new October RC Box Club and I’m about to unbox this month’s package. Spoiler alert: I’ve got the cool Nitro Pro shirt on. It’s got a little star on it because I accidentally spilled some ink while printing them. But hey, no need to waste a perfectly good shirt, right?

Okay, let’s open up this month’s box. For those who may not know, the RC Box Club is a monthly subscription box filled with awesome RC goodies. This month’s theme is Halloween, since it’s October, but also kind of fall when it starts to get cool. I’ll also share a fun story about what inspired me to create this particular box. In addition to the shirt, we also have a nice range of diff oil included.

The Wrenching Time

So this is kind of like a wrenching time. For me, it’s nice and cool outside. I sit in the garage, and I like to wrench, and differentials are probably one of my least favorite things to maintain on my RC car.

A Full Range of Dip Fluid

So I give you guys a full range of dip fluid. We have 100K, 15K, 10K, and 5K. I talk about the cool applications or what kind of oils you should use in what car in a little ride up. Go check that out if you’re interested. If you’re a subscriber of the RC Box Club, we also have some friction grease. This is awesome, diff grease. Basically, you put this on your ring and pinion gears and it just makes it nice and smooth, buttery smooth.

Nitro Pro Microfibers

But what’s really cool are these Nitro pro microfibers. I know that sounds weird, that I’m all excited about microfibers, but I’m not joking. I went to Psycho Nitro Blast one year and I got some of these, and they blew me away. They are probably the nicest microfibers I’ve ever seen in my life.

The Towel-Like Design

Check these out, it’s got this really cool design on the front side and on the backside. It’s like a towel, but it’s so nice that I don’t really clean diffs with them. It’s just too nice, like when you see someone showing off jewelry or a firearm, they need to lay it on something that’s just as nice. That’s how nice this microfiber is, but you get two of these microfibers just in case.

In summary, my Traxxas XMaxx is all messed up and it’s during my favorite wrenching time. Luckily, I have a full range of dip fluids to choose from and some friction grease to make things smoother. Additionally, I have these amazing Nitro pro microfibers that are so nice, it’s like laying precious items on them. It’s truly a unique and exciting experience to have such high-quality tools for my RC car maintenance.

Dirty Differentials

After some intense use of your Traxxas XMaxx, you may notice that the differentials look dirty and grimy. It’s essential to keep your vehicle clean to ensure its optimal performance. Therefore, it’s crucial to clean the differentials regularly to maintain the quality of your Traxxas XMaxx.

The Mega Trick for Cleaning Differentials

Now, let me explain the incredible hack my friend Mike showed me. You’ll be amazed at how effective it is! First, remove the diff from your Traxxas XMaxx. Lay a blue towel down on your work surface to prevent any mess. As you take the diff apart, let it drain and set the different components aside.

The Power of Microfiber Cloth

Now, here comes the mega trick! To clean the dirty gears, grab some old microfiber cloth. Instead of using fancy and expensive microfibers, it’s better to use the old and worn ones for this task. The reason being, these old ones will get greasy and dirty, and you wouldn’t want to ruin your new microfibers, which are better suited for other cleaning purposes or for wiping your hands.

The Cleaning Process

Take a piece of the old microfiber cloth and shove it into the differential, ensuring it covers the gears. Once you’ve done that, give it a gentle spin. You will be amazed at how the microfiber cloth picks up all the dirt and grime, leaving your gears super clean and ready for action. It’s a simple yet effective method to get your Traxxas XMaxx back on track.

Problems with the Traxxas XMAXX

The Traxxas XMAXX, a popular remote-controlled car model, has been facing some significant issues. From strange noises to malfunctioning parts, this article will dive deep into the problems encountered by XMAXX owners.

The Diff Dilemma

One of the major concerns with the Traxxas XMAXX lies in its differential. While some users have successfully cleaned and serviced their diffs using the recommended 5000 ultimate racing oil, others have experienced difficulties. The diff becomes messy, requiring the application of Protech white grease. However, this white grease, which comes in the RC Box Club box, poses additional challenges.

A Slippery Situation

Applying a generous coat of white grease to the gears may sound like the ideal solution. But upon realization, one might find themselves overwhelmed by just how much grease is required. The process of reassembling the diff may be perplexing, especially when trying to fit the slippery gears back into place.

RC Box Club: A Worthwhile Investment?

Repairs and Upgrades

Amidst the issues faced, some enthusiasts have managed to fix certain problems with their Traxxas XMAXX. For example, the strange slapping noise from the drive shaft has been resolved. However, there are upgrades still in the pipeline, such as the installation of a new aluminum steering rack and the addition of a servo.

A Generous Giveaway

As a token of appreciation to loyal viewers, the author announces a giveaway in which the gearbox from this month’s RC Box Club will be given away. Unfortunately, no shirts are available for giveaway due to uncertain stock availability. But there is a chance to win a valuable component for the Traxxas XMAXX.

And that concludes this perplexing journey through the issues faced with the Traxxas XMAXX. Stay tuned for more updates and solutions to further enhance your RC experience.
