FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80: Introduction

The FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80 is the talk of the town, flooding the internet with its impressive features and performance. Today, we will dive into this beast of a truck and explore what makes it stand out from its predecessor, the FCX24.

Unboxing the FCX18

The excitement builds as we prepare to unbox the FCX18 and take it for a test drive. The box itself flaunts eye-catching artwork, available in three different colors. If you’ve followed FMS before, you may recognize the body of this truck from the previous 1/8 scale version. However, this new model has received significant upgrades to enhance its crawling capabilities.

Enhanced Crawling Features

What sets the FCX18 apart from its predecessor is the host of crawling features that have been added to achieve superior performance on any terrain. Let’s delve into the exciting upgrades:

1. Ready to Run

With the FCX18, you don’t need to worry about assembling the truck from scratch. It comes ready to run, allowing you to hit the trails right out of the box. This convenience ensures you can quickly get the adventure started without any delays.

2. High-Powered Battery

The inclusion of a 900mAh battery provides you with extended playtime, letting you enjoy the thrills of off-roading for longer durations. Say goodbye to frequent battery changes, and embrace longer-lasting fun with the FCX18.

3. Two-Speed Transmission

A standout feature of the FCX18 is its two-speed transmission system. This innovation allows you to smoothly switch between different gear ratios, granting you enhanced control over the truck’s speed and crawling abilities. Whether you prefer a high-speed adventure or a slow, steady climb, the FCX18 has got you covered.

4. Lighting Effects

Prepare to get mesmerized as the FCX18 comes equipped with impressive lighting effects. These lights not only add a touch of realism to your crawling adventures but also provide increased visibility during low-light conditions. Stand out from the crowd and conquer the trails with style.

5. Robust Metal Low Bars

The FCX18 features an upgraded suspension system with metal low bars, ensuring durability and stability on rough terrains. These bars offer excellent protection and absorb shocks, granting you a smoother and more enjoyable off-road experience.

6. Four-Link Portal Axles

Bringing in even more crawling capabilities, the FCX18 is equipped with four-link portal axles. These axles provide increased ground clearance, allowing the truck to navigate over obstacles with ease. Conquer challenging terrains and surpass all obstacles in your path with the FCX18.

Introducing the New FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80

The new FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80 is here, and it promises to be even better than its predecessor, the FCX24. With a range of impressive features and improvements, this RC car is sure to impress enthusiasts and hobbyists alike. Let’s take a closer look at what this new model has to offer.

Advanced Suspension

One of the standout features of the FCX18 is its four-link suspension with oil-filled shocks. This means you can expect a smoother and more stable ride, even on rough terrain. The addition of these shocks is a significant upgrade from its predecessor, providing a more enjoyable driving experience.

Tuning Made Simple

The FCX18 comes with easy-to-use adjustment options, allowing you to fine-tune the drag brake and other settings to suit your preferences. With the included radio, you can set your forward and reverse brake settings effortlessly. Tuning this RC car has never been easier.

Impressive Design

The FCX18 features a sleek and durable design. The front of the car boasts metal steering links, providing added strength and stability. The aluminum chassis not only adds to its aesthetic appeal but also ensures the car’s durability. With its fcx18 branding, this RC car is sure to turn heads.

Convenient Body Removal

Removing the car’s body for maintenance or customization is a breeze. With just two screws, you can access the internal components easily. This hassle-free process allows for quick and hassle-free modifications, ensuring you spend more time enjoying your RC car and less time working on it.

Improved Hardware

The FCX18 comes with updated hex hardware, providing a more secure fit for many of its parts. While some components may still require a screwdriver or Phillips head, most of the hardware on this model features a hex design. This upgrade improves overall stability and durability.

From its advanced suspension to its sleek design and convenient features, the new FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80 is a worthy successor to the FCX24. Whether you’re a seasoned RC car enthusiast or just starting out, this model is sure to provide an exciting and enjoyable experience.

A Compact Design

Upon closer inspection of the FCX18, you’ll notice its intricate details and compact design. It is the perfect size for those who enjoy working on their RC cars with precision. However, it may require a little finesse to access certain areas, as you might need glasses or a tiny screwdriver to reach them. Despite these challenges, the FCX18 offers a remarkable feature – the ability to see through its interior. This is made possible due to the absence of an interior, which also contributes to its weight reduction, making it more suitable for competitive racing.

A Scale Dilemma

One of the intriguing aspects of the FCX18 is its scale. While it is marketed as an 18th scale model, there seems to be confusion about how it compares to a real truck. This scale conundrum is not unique to the FCX18; similar questions have been raised about other RC car models. The 24th scale two-door Blazer, for example, is slightly shorter and has a shorter wheelbase compared to the FCX18. However, if the FCX18 is a four-door model with a similar wheelbase, calling it an 18th scale might not be a significant improvement. The issue of scale remains perplexing, and it’s best to focus on the unique features and capabilities of the FCX18 rather than getting caught up in these intricacies.

Convenient Design Choices

The FCX18 distinguishes itself with some smart design choices that enhance ease of use. One notable feature is the removable body, which makes maintenance and customization more convenient. Unlike previous models where accessing the internal components required dismantling the car, FMS has cleverly tucked everything under the hood. This means that you won’t need to frequently go under the car, saving you time and effort. Additionally, the FCX18 boasts a larger motor compared to its predecessor, the old-style lc80. This ensures more power and better performance on the tracks.

A Power-Packed Package

When exploring the FCX18 further, you’ll discover a generous battery compartment and an easy-to-use on/off switch. These additions ensure a seamless experience as you power up your RC car, giving you the freedom to enjoy longer playtime without interruption. While opening the battery compartment might require both hands, the effort is worth it when you unleash the potential of this swift and agile RC car.

In conclusion, the FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80 offers a thrilling and engaging experience for remote control car enthusiasts. Its compact design, smart design choices, and robust performance make it an exciting addition to FMS’s line of RC cars. While questions regarding scale may persist, it’s best to appreciate the FCX18 for its unique features and capabilities. So, buckle up and get ready to experience the irresistible charm of the FCX18 as it races its way into the hearts of RC car enthusiasts everywhere.

The New FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80

So we got our radio on, and I’m going to plug in this 900 milliamp hour battery 2s. Push the button down, and that’s how the lights flash. It looks nice and hits. Channel four lights on, even brighter. We got turn signals flashing, but there’s no mode with just the turn signals off, only the lights on. I wish there was a mode that had lights but didn’t use the turn signals, but it is what it is.

Unboxing and Features

Anyway, we want to see how it does without looking under the hood here. Maybe we’ll do it inside when we do a little unboxing. You can see the big Power Dash motor in there, a much bigger motor compared to the FCX24. It also has a two-speed transmission and plastic drive shafts, but the nice links versus the plastic ones that come on the FCX24. Let’s get this thing rolling, here we go.

Testing on the Course

We’re going to run this on the course where we just tested a lot of our 18th scale vehicles. I don’t have the gates anymore because we pulled them for the Great Lakes Gauntlet. Let’s see if we can get any there. And there we go, we got the UPS which I would like to give a shout out to FMS. They were the sponsor of our mini-course, the Tiny Gauntlet at the Great Lakes Gauntlet. So shout out to them for being a sponsor of the event.

Overall, the new FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80 seems promising with its larger motor and two-speed transmission. The design improvements, such as the upgraded links, make it a more durable option compared to the FCX24. While the lack of a mode for just the lights without turn signals might be a minor inconvenience for some, it doesn’t diminish the overall performance of the vehicle. With its notable features and sponsorship support from FMS, the FCX18 shows potential for a thrilling off-road experience.

Introducing the New FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80

The latest addition to the FMS family, the FCX18 Toyota LC80, is here to take the off-road experience to a whole new level. With its impressive features and exceptional performance, it has already become the talk of the town.

A Bigger FCX24?

Rumors have been circulating about the similarities between the FCX18 and the FCX24, its predecessor. While both models share some similarities, there are distinct differences that set them apart. Let’s take a closer look at what makes the FCX18 unique.

Unforgettable Event Experience

During the recent event, Frank from FMS joined us and made the day even more memorable. We had an exciting 18th scale course, which provided an adrenaline-pumping experience for all participants. Despite a slight challenge with the rear differential, the overall experience was phenomenal.

Mastering the Course

Despite the loose rear differential, navigating through the course was a thrilling adventure. With a bit of guesswork due to the absence of gates, we pushed ourselves to find the perfect line. Adjusting the steering dual rates brought significant improvement, but removing a single screw became necessary.

Conquering the Obstacles

While encountering a slight bumper hit and facing less grippy tires, the FCX18 showcased its ability to handle low speeds effectively. The dry conditions and lack of moisture on the course proved challenging, yet the vehicle’s performance remained commendable.

Delivering Impressive Climbing Abilities

One of the highlights of the FCX18 Toyota LC80 is its remarkable climbing prowess. It effortlessly conquered various inclines, proving that its grip on the terrain is reliable even in unfavorable conditions. The durability of the vehicle was put to the test as it successfully scaled different obstacles.

Preparing for Future Improvements

Although there were a few missed lines during the event, the FCX18 demonstrated its determination to tackle any challenge thrown its way. With further adjustments and modifications, its capabilities are bound to become even more remarkable.

The NEW FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80

This is box stock out of the box theres the line. I needed whoa well, walk it over get a little bit less of that. Oh heavy bodies still yep a little bit heavy body which it does have those oil filled shocks which should help, but because its not compressing super great, like it feels good in the hand.

Offloading Challenges

Because of the added stiffness, I guess of it being a little slower to depress the dampening on it. It uh its really offloading or its pushing the truck over, because its not soaking in enough were not getting enough Flex out of it. What a beautiful looking truck, though and Im so glad that they keep coming out with these small scale trucks for us.

The Hardest Thing

This is the hardest thing. Yet lets see how it does. Oh, my gosh all right so so far better than the other trucks. Getting to this point, oh my gosh, we just made it over. Oh, I hung up. Can we pivot it all right, well count that it just destroyed that front end of that it was awesome, got some traction there. It needed – and we went up and over big bumper on the front, got to get around things, but it does help protect it.

Mixed Results

Two ways to look at everything all right. I just feel like were spinning, tires here even on these rocks and were not our tires. Arent really collecting dust or anything too bad were getting there there.

In conclusion, the NEW FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80 proves to be a mixed bag when it comes to offloading capabilities. Its heavy body and slow dampening may affect its flexibility and offloading performance. However, it still manages to outperform other trucks in certain aspects. With its beautiful design and small scale, it is a compelling option for RC enthusiasts.

The New FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80

The FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80 is making waves in the world of off-roading enthusiasts. With its impressive features and capabilities, it is being hailed as the bigger brother of the FCX24. Let’s take a closer look at what this beast has to offer.

Unmatched Performance

Off-roading can be a challenge for any vehicle, but the FCX18 Toyota LC80 seems to handle it with ease. Its sturdy build and powerful engine make conquering obstacles a breeze. The suspension, although slightly stiff, does a decent job of providing stability and control. However, some drivers may find it lacking in flexibility.

A Promising Upgrade

Compared to its predecessor, the FCX24, the FCX18 shows potential for improvement. The added size and weight of the vehicle contribute to its stability on rough terrains, and the sturdy build ensures durability. However, some drivers have expressed their desire for a softer suspension to enhance the vehicle’s ability to absorb shocks.

A Driver’s Perspective

The driver plays a crucial role in maneuvering the FCX18. With the right skills and knowledge, one can navigate even the toughest trails effortlessly. The vehicle responds well to the driver’s commands, but there is room for improvement in terms of suspension performance. A little more flexibility could make a significant difference in the overall off-roading experience.

Real-World Testing

The first-hand experience of driving the FCX18 reveals its strengths and weaknesses. The vehicle handles challenging terrains reasonably well but may struggle in certain situations. The tires tend to roll, especially when facing steep inclines, which can lead to potential rollovers. Despite this, the FCX18 still manages to find better lines and make progress.

The New FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80: A Bigger FCX24?

As we delve deeper into driving the new FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80, we are gradually uncovering its true handling capabilities. This is a sentiment that holds true for all trucks – the more we drive them, the more we appreciate their unique characteristics and the lines they require us to take. However, a little help never hurts.

A Tough Hard Body

I must say, this FCX18 is tougher than your average hard body. We previously tested the K5 Blazer Trx4M, which offered a bit more flexibility. Perhaps the FCX18 will loosen up a bit with time. For now, it puts up a good fight on the trails.

Impressions from the First Run

With the first run under our belt, it’s safe to say that FMS has done a commendable job with this vehicle. There are several notable changes that we appreciate. However, some modifications might be necessary to suit personal preferences.

Modifications and Upgrades

The wheels and tires, although visually appealing, might need replacement to enhance performance. Brass wheels with grippy tires could make a significant difference in traction. Additionally, removing the spare tire would help reduce weight and improve maneuverability.

Attention to Detail

FMS has truly paid attention to the small details on this model. From the meticulously crafted molded windshield wipers and mirrors to the snorkels and lights, every element adds to the realistic appearance of the vehicle. The inclusion of big bumpers at the front and a ladder on the rear further enhance its rugged appeal. The scaled wheel wells and the attractive two-tone color scheme make this FCX18 a head-turner.

A Comparable Size to the FCX24

The FCX18 shares the same axles and other components as its smaller counterpart, the FCX24. However, it boasts a longer body, which adds to its overall size. This larger build further enhances its capabilities and presence on the trails.

Improved Performance and Design

The new FMS FCX18 Toyota LC80 has taken the RC car world by storm with its impressive performance and sleek design. This latest addition to the FMS lineup promises to be even better than its predecessor, the FCX24. With some key enhancements, it is set to provide RC enthusiasts with a truly thrilling experience.
