The New Fordyce Body Set
Vanquish Products has recently introduced their latest addition to the ready-to-run (RTR) feather lineup, the Fordyce. Upon unboxing, the new body set immediately caught my attention. While Vanquish didn’t disclose the inspiration behind this design, I couldn’t help but be reminded of my father’s Willys pickup truck. The subtle cues in the roof design, the grill area, the style on the doors, and the slight roll on the rear all evoke a sense of nostalgia for the classic Willys. The standout feature for me is the split window, adding to the overall charm and identity of the Fordyce. If you have a different interpretation, feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
The Four Differences and Standard Features
Now let’s delve into the four key differences between the Fordyce and the Phoenix ready-to-run truck. Firstly, the body set, as already mentioned, is a distinct departure from Vanquish’s previous models. Secondly, the Fordyce features an updated interior design that exudes a sense of style and sophistication, setting it apart from its counterparts. The third difference lies in the tires, as the Fordyce comes equipped with Vanquish’s own high-performance tire design, providing enhanced traction and stability on various terrains. Finally, the Fordyce boasts improved suspension tuning, allowing for better handling and control during trail runs.
In addition to these four differences, the Fordyce also comes with a variety of standard features. It is equipped with a high-torque servo, ensuring precise steering and maneuverability. Its waterproof electronics guarantee durability and longevity, even in challenging weather conditions. Furthermore, the Fordyce features a powerful motor and a robust drivetrain, which contributes to its impressive performance on the trails. These standard features make the Fordyce a reliable and capable RTR trail truck.
Grille Design and Headlights
The new Grille design of the Vanquish Fordyce is truly impressive. It features a molded piece with a unique seven-slot design. However, what sets it apart is the inclusion of a horizontal slot, which cleverly avoids any licensing issues with Jeep. The headlights are also worth mentioning, as they have been borrowed from their Phoenix Truck model. The clear lens adds a touch of elegance, and the truck can be further enhanced with their LED light kit from incision.
Cool Body Design
The body design of the Vanquish Fordyce is a sight to behold. With its sleek lines and captivating graphics on the hood and door insets, it exudes a sense of style and creativity. The absence of a separate handle on the door is cleverly compensated with a decal. The rear bed panels are mounted up to the cage, reminiscent of a classic Willys pickup truck. The retention of the cage and the inclusion of tail lights add to the overall appeal.
Convenient Access to Battery and Body Removal
One of the notable features of the Vanquish Fordyce is the easy access to the battery. By pulling two clips out of the rear, the front body hinges up, allowing quick access to the battery compartment. Additionally, the front body hinge pin can be removed, enabling the removal of the body entirely. This convenience makes maintenance and customization a breeze.
Available in a Stylish Gray
For those who want to stand out, the Vanquish Fordyce is also available in a stunning gray color. This cool gray hue adds a touch of sophistication to the overall appearance of the truck. The option to choose this distinctive color further enhances the appeal of the Vanquish Fordyce.
Simplified Transmission for Efficient Performance
One of the major changes in the Vanquish Fordyce is its transmission system. While it still features the vdf front case, the overdrive and dig unit have been removed. Instead, it now boasts a simple transfer case. This modification aims to streamline performance and improve efficiency, ensuring a smooth and reliable trail experience.
In conclusion, the Vanquish Fordyce offers a remarkable package for those in search of the perfect RTR trail truck. With its innovative grille design, stylish body, convenient battery access, and improved transmission, it promises an exceptional off-road journey. Whether you prefer the classic black or the captivating gray, the Vanquish Fordyce is undoubtedly a worthy contender in the hunt for the ultimate trail truck.
Reduced Costs Without Compromising Quality
Is it eliminates all those working part Parts? It still has metal gears and ball bearings, but it helps reduce costs. So if you dont have any desire whatsoever to go and put servos in later on down the road to access those features, this is probably a better option for you than the Phoenix.
Stylish and Functional Wheels
The third change to the Fordyce are the wheels these are modeled after KMC Riot wheels and they look really good in this black color theyre, a bead lock, wheel, theyre, three piece and theyre a composite wheel, but unlike the wheels that we saw in the Phoenix. These don’t have an aluminum bead lock ring. I also noticed just by chance that these wheels actually narrow up the truck just a little bit in comparison to the Phoenix and so far on the bench. These tires don’t seem to shift on the wheel like the Phoenix did. That was one of my complaints with that truck speaking of the wheel and tire combo. The tires themselves are the Falcon wild Peak tires in the red compound and Guys. These are ridiculously sticky.
Improved Linkage System
The last difference I could find on the Fordyce chassis were the links. The lower links. Look the same to me: they’re 6.5 millimeter thick heavy duty link, but the upper links have changed. These are 3.5 millimeter thick were on the Phoenix. They had a heavy duty link all the way around and even up front here on the steering.
Overall, the Fordyce is a solid option for those looking for a ready-to-run trail truck. With its reduced costs without compromising quality and stylish and functional wheels, it provides a great experience for enthusiasts. The improved linkage system also adds to the truck’s performance and durability. So if you’re on the hunt for the perfect RTR trail truck, the Fordyce might just be the one for you.
The New Fordyce: A Simplified RTR Trail Truck
They also change these to the thinner 3.5 lengths. So beyond having a new body, it looks like the Ford ice is slightly simplified from the previous version ready to run.
First Impressions
Lets head out to the trail now to see how it runs and Ill tell you about some of the other features you need to know. While I drive foreign Music, so Vanquish was cool enough to send over the Ford ice truck so guys right out of the box, I noticed it. Didnt have full steering travel. This has the F10 axles in it, which have basically 45 degrees of steering and it wasnt getting enough so youre gon na have to go and adjust your end points here on the radio system.
