Reviving the X Maxx: A Rebuild Journey

The X Maxx is a beast of a machine that requires regular maintenance and care to keep it running smoothly. In today’s article, we will take a closer look at the process of rebuilding the front differential and reviving the rear end of this powerful RC car.

Rebuilding the Front Differential

One of the first things to tackle in this rebuild is the front differential. Care must be taken not to damage the seal while working on the bearings. It is important to ensure that everything is properly cleaned and in good condition before reassembly. The stock oil used on the front differential is 10K, but a larger size can be opted for an enhanced performance.

The Beauty of a Clean Front End

Upon completing the front clip reassembly, it is a sight to behold. The once rusty and worn-out components have been replaced and the front end now shines with cleanliness. This not only improves the overall appearance of the X Maxx but also ensures that it is not leaking any fluids.

Preparing for the Rear End Rebuild

While the front differential rebuild is an essential step, the journey to reviving the X Maxx doesn’t end there. The rear end of the RC car also requires attention. In this particular rebuild, a recommended method will be used to remove rust and breathe new life into the rear end.

Introducing the Recommended Method

After taking the advice and recommendations of fellow RC enthusiasts, a chosen method will be put to the test. The excitement and curiosity to see the results of this method are high. The required product for the process will be obtained, and the rebuilding journey will continue.

Reap the Results: Hours Later

After four long hours of dedicated effort, the reassembly is finally complete. The front and rear clips have been successfully rebuilt, leaving behind the traces of rust and wear. The shocks, drive shafts, and screws all portray a renewed appearance. The transformation from a worn-out look to a revitalized state is truly remarkable.

As the X Maxx stands before us, ready to hit the roads once again, it serves as a testament to the importance of regular maintenance and attention to detail. Through the process of rebuilding, this RC car has been given a new lease on life. It is a reminder to all RC enthusiasts to take the time to care for their machines, ensuring many more thrilling adventures to come.

The Rebuilding Process

In this article, we will delve into the process of rebuilding rusted bearings and explore different methods to achieve a rust-free result. We will also explore the effectiveness of various rust removal solutions, comparing apple cider vinegar and evapo rust.

Apple Cider Vinegar: The Initial Solution

In a previous video, I showcased my use of apple cider vinegar to remove rust from screws. While it was somewhat effective, not all the rust completely disappeared. Some screws required additional scrubbing to completely eradicate the rust. However, it did serve as a good starting point in breaking up the rust and making it easier to wipe away.

The Recommendation: Evapo Rust

After my previous video, numerous recommendations flooded in, suggesting I try a product called evapo rust. This rust removal solution can be found at Harbor Freight stores or easily purchased online. Intrigued by the possibility of a more efficient and less pungent alternative to apple cider vinegar, I decided to give it a try.

The Promise of Evapo Rust

According to those who recommended evapo rust, it is highly effective in removing rust and does not emit a strong odor like apple cider vinegar. With such promising endorsements, I am eager to put this solution to the test and see if it lives up to its reputation. If it proves to be effective and less odorous than apple cider vinegar, I will gladly recommend it to others in need of a rust removal solution.

The Benefits of Using a Cheaper Rust Remover

Cheaper Alternative: Two Dollars and Fifty Cents

In the quest to rid our belongings of pesky rust, we often find ourselves torn between the desire for effectiveness and the need for affordability. Many rust removers on the market can be quite expensive, with some bottles costing up to nine dollars. However, there is a cheaper alternative that only costs two dollars and fifty cents, maybe even less. While the price might be appealing, there is one concern that lingers in our minds – does it stink?

A Potential Solution: A Non-Stinking Rust Remover

Perhaps there is a rust remover in the market that not only proves to be more cost-effective but also eliminates the unpleasant odor that accompanies the process. This alternative might just be the solution we have been searching for. However, there is only one way to find out if it works better than its more expensive counterpart – by putting it to the test. We will start by taking out all the screws from the rear end and attempting to de-rust them using this new product.

Selective Usage: Dividing the Task

While we are willing to give the cheaper rust remover a chance, we have reservations about using it on certain components. The driveshafts and springs, for instance, are crucial parts that require utmost attention. Therefore, we will stick to the more expensive rust remover for those components and reserve the cheaper option for other parts. After all, we still have plenty of the latter left from our previous purchases, and it would be wise to use it up before disposing of it.

The Experiment Begins: Soaking and Comparing

With the rear end efficiently dismantled, we proceed to immerse the various parts in appropriate solutions. The div pieces are submerged in a solution of simple green, a renowned cleaning agent, while the rest are soaked in soapy water to remove any dirt particles. Finally, it is time to pour the cheaper rust remover – the one that resembles apple cider vinegar – onto the parts reserved for this experiment. Surprisingly, it does not emit a foul odor like its pricey counterpart does.

A Cost-Effective and Odorless Solution?

As we wait patiently for the rust remover to work its magic, we reflect on the benefits of this cheaper alternative. Not only is it cost-effective, but it also does not stink. This odorless quality proves to be a major advantage, especially for those who despise the pungent smell associated with rust removal. Perhaps we have stumbled upon a win-win situation, where we can de-rust our belongings without breaking the bank or enduring unpleasant smells.

In conclusion, the quest for an effective and affordable rust remover might have finally reached a satisfactory outcome. The cheaper alternative, priced at only two dollars and fifty cents, proves to be potentially as effective as its pricier counterpart. Furthermore, with the added benefit of being odorless, this alternative is certainly worth a try. So, the next time you find yourself faced with rusty objects that require de-rusting, consider opting for the more cost-effective and odorless solution.

The Power of Evapo Rust: A Rust Remover Worth Trying

Eradicating Rust: A Surprising Discovery

When faced with the challenge of removing rust from various objects, we often resort to traditional methods such as vinegar or abrasive cleaning agents. However, there’s a product that promises to eliminate rust in a more efficient and convenient way – Evapo Rust. Intrigued by its claims, we decided to put it to the test.

The Unexpected Results

As we examined the warning labels on the back panel of the Evapo Rust product, we felt confident that our experiment would be safe. However, our initial impression took a slight hit when we discovered that the product might not be as safe as we had anticipated. Despite our reservations, we proceeded with testing the rust remover and observed some remarkable results.

No Residue or Grime: A Pleasant Surprise

Expecting some residue or grime to be left behind after the rust removal process, we were surprised to find a clean surface instead. The absence of any unsightly remnants left us in awe. Though a faint smell lingered, it was far from overpowering. It seemed that the rust had effortlessly disappeared, almost as if it had evaporated.

A Success Story: A Pristine Drive Shaft

To gauge the effectiveness of Evapo Rust, we decided to test it on a rusty drive shaft. As we inspected the drive shaft, we were pleased to find that the rust had completely vanished. The transformation was astonishing, and it was evident that Evapo Rust had fulfilled its promise of rust removal. Comparing it to the tried and tested method of apple cider vinegar, it seemed that Evapo Rust had the upper hand.

A Spring of Hope: Tackling Rust on Springs

Next, we turned our attention to rusty springs that were partially submerged during the rust removal process. Despite not being completely immersed, the springs showed significant improvements. While a small amount of rust remained, it was considerably less than before. Evapo Rust proved its efficacy, leaving us impressed with its ability to tackle rust on various objects.

Effortless Maintenance: A Rust Remover for Everyday Use

One feature that distinguishes Evapo Rust is its convenience for everyday use. The absence of excess grime and its minimal odor make it a favorable option for regular maintenance. It is easy to envision keeping a container of Evapo Rust handy, ready to tackle rusty screws or any other metal objects that need cleaning. Its effectiveness and ease of use make it a go-to rust remover for many.

The Final Verdict: Evapo Rust, A True Rust Remover

In our exploration of rust removal methods, Evapo Rust has emerged as a reliable and efficient solution. Its ability to eliminate rust and leave behind a clean surface is commendable. With minimal odor and no residue or grime, it offers a pleasant experience for users. Whether you need to restore an old piece of metal or tackle regular maintenance, Evapo Rust is undoubtedly worth a try. Say goodbye to stubborn rust and embrace the power of Evapo Rust.

The Awesome Power of Apple Rust

Removing Rust with Apple Cider Vinegar

When it comes to removing rust, there are numerous methods out there. One popular option is apple cider vinegar. While it may not be as effective as other rust removal solutions, it does have its advantages. With apple cider vinegar, you may need to put in a bit more effort to get all the rust off. There may be some residue left behind that requires wiping or scrubbing. However, for less severe cases of rust, apple cider vinegar can be a viable and affordable option.

The Superiority of Evapo Rust

If you’re dealing with heavily rusted items, evapo rust is the way to go. It has shown to work better on screws and other metal components compared to apple cider vinegar. With evapo rust, you can expect a more thorough cleaning with less residue left behind. The powerful formula penetrates deep into the rust, dissolving it away and leaving your items clean and restored. Although it may be slightly more expensive, the results speak for themselves.

Restoring a Beat Up Car

Restoring a car that has seen better days can be a challenging task. However, with the right products and techniques, it is possible to bring it back to its former glory. In the case of the author’s car, the rusted body needed some TLC. While the holes on the car seemed daunting, a creative solution was found. Instead of expensive repairs, the author decided to use a sticker sheet to cover the holes. By finding a compatible sticker sheet and strategically placing it, the car’s appearance was improved without breaking the budget.

Body Reinforcers for Added Stability

Another issue faced during the car restoration process was the problem of screw holes pulling through the body. To address this, the author utilized body reinforcers. These components are designed to provide extra stability and prevent the screws from causing damage. By using body reinforcers, the author was able to ensure that the body remained intact even under pressure.

In conclusion, when it comes to rust removal and car restoration, it’s important to choose the right products and methods. Apple cider vinegar can be effective for mild rust, but for more severe cases, evapo rust is the superior choice. Additionally, finding creative solutions like using sticker sheets and body reinforcers can save money without compromising the end result. With the right tools and determination, even the most beat-up cars can be transformed into something amazing.

The Amazing Transformation of a Rusty Car

A Rewarding Rebuild

I should be able to put these on, and this body should be fine. It really isn’t that beat up, and luckily this comes with screws, so the rusted body screws on here will go away. We’re done. Guys, we’re done. We’re here at my parents’ farm, we’re gonna go drive this thing, guys, it turned out absolutely amazing. I am completely blown away. It’s probably one of my most favorite rebuilds that I’ve done in a really, really long time. It was so rewarding to see where it came from how it was all rusted and beat up and how it looks now. Guys, check this thing out. Thank you, Music. Thank you. Look at this thing.

Rust Everywhere

There was rust on pretty much every screw on this car, including the shocks and springs. There was rust all over it. It wasn’t in good working condition.

Making Repairs

I replaced one arm. One arm, like the outside, was kind of stretched apart, so it needed to be closed up a little bit, but it was an arm I had. I added the body retainers here, so you can see the body retainers. It keeps the body from going through. Basically, the screws kind of pulled through the body. This completely fixed the body. I did put stickers over the holes, so you can’t even tell that there were light holes. I mean, this body is scratched up, but it’s in perfect running condition. A little bit of damage here, but they get beat up really quickly. Anyways, the body’s good.

The Transformation of a Car: From Rusty to Amazing

Front End: Apple Cider Vinegar Bath

When it comes to restoring a car and getting rid of rust, there are various methods one can try. In this case, the front end of the car was treated with a special concoction of apple cider vinegar. The results were nothing short of amazing. The rust on the front end seemed to have disappeared, leaving behind a clean and shiny surface. However, there was a slight discoloration on the screws, making them appear a lighter shade of gray. Although the rust was mostly gone, there were still traces of it on some areas.

Rear End: The Magic of Evapo Rust

In comparison, the rear end of the car underwent a different treatment. This time, evapo rust was used to tackle the rust problem. The outcome was even more impressive. The screws showed no signs of rust whatsoever. However, similar to the apple cider vinegar method, the screws did experience a slight change in color. The once dark gray screws now appeared to be a slightly lighter shade. Despite this slight drawback, the use of evapo rust proved to be highly effective in eliminating the rust.

The Gears: A Brand New Look

Moving to the inner workings of the car, the gears inside were in dire need of some attention. They had become rusty and unpleasant to look at. However, after the restoration process, they now looked as good as new. The rust was completely gone, leaving behind gears that were shiny and ready to perform their intended function. The transformation was truly remarkable, turning the previously rusty and nasty gears into something that could rival the appearance of a brand new car.

Additional Enhancements and Cost

Aside from tackling the rust issue, the car owner also decided to make some additional improvements. One notable addition was the inclusion of special pieces to run 6s. These pieces were not commonly found in second-hand cars of the same model and had to be purchased separately. The cost of these enhancements, along with the necessary cleaning supplies, was minimal. The owner managed to restore the car’s appearance and functionality without breaking the bank.

The Grand Total: A Worthwhile Investment

In conclusion, the transformation of this car from a rust-ridden vehicle to a stunning masterpiece was truly worth it. The combination of apple cider vinegar and evapo rust proved to be effective in removing the rust, albeit with some slight discoloration. The gears inside were also restored to their former glory, enhancing the overall performance of the car. With minimal additional expenses, the owner successfully breathed new life into their beloved vehicle. This serves as a testament to the power of restoration and the satisfaction that comes with witnessing the incredible results of one’s efforts.

Exploring the Suspension Changes on the X Max

The X Max is a popular choice among RC car enthusiasts for its impressive suspension system. With recent modifications, the suspension changes have taken this already great car to new heights. In this article, we will delve into the details of these changes and discuss their impact on performance.

The Modifications Made

To enhance the suspension of the X Max, several modifications were made. One of the key changes was the addition of 50 weight oil all around the car, along with 600 CST on the discs. This adjustment provided a slight push, but considering the X Max’s inherent tendency to push, this change wasn’t much of a surprise. Additionally, the front and rear differentials had different oil weights – 30K in the front and 15K in the rear. This alteration significantly reduced the dip and improved the overall handling of the car.

Improved Performance

The modifications made to the suspension system have greatly enhanced the X Max’s performance. The increased oil weight throughout the car, especially in the discs, has resulted in a more stable and controlled driving experience. Even though the X Max is known for its speed, the adjustments made to the suspension have allowed it to handle exceptionally well, providing an exhilarating yet safe driving experience.

The Brake Factor

One aspect that excels on the X Max is its braking system. With a crazy amount of brakes, it can stop on a dime. However, caution must be exercised due to this sheer stopping power. Braking too abruptly can lead to some unforeseen consequences. Adjustments to the braking system could be considered to ensure a smoother deceleration and reduce the risk of unintended stops.

Unmatched Versatility

What sets the X Max apart from its competitors is its ability to tackle any terrain thrown at it. Regardless of the obstacles, this car drives over them effortlessly. Whether it’s rough terrains, muddy tracks, or even rocky surfaces, the X Max doesn’t care about the conditions. Its versatility makes it an ideal choice for those looking for an all-terrain RC car that performs exceptionally well in any environment.

A Farewell and What’s Next

As we wrap up this article, we also bring an end to this series. It has been a thrilling experience exploring the suspension changes and their impact on the performance of the X Max. We hope you have enjoyed reading as much as we enjoyed writing. Your feedback matters to us, so please let us know if you found this article informative and engaging.
